I tried 2 of his tunes, they didn't get along with my car. The torque converter wouldn't lock up.

Love it, i have 2 tunes on my xcal2...a zack 2.0 tune and another tune from some other person who isnt on this site any longer....zack tune ftw

I ran two aftermarket tunes on my MM when I had it, one was Lidio, one was Zack. The Lidio tune was great tune, but the Zack tune felt like it picked up that little bit extra that was left on the table. The trans portion was top-notch for me.

I have a Lidio tune, can I get it retuned by Zach? If so, how do I contact him? I feel that the car is a little weak right now and I would like to give it some more umph. Can Lidio give it a better tune?

Like a smooth Bordeaux. :D

On a serious note, our driveability and shifts schedules are very good. Many customers have also said that they have seen increased mileage (and of course increased performance).

Some folks like a very agressive shift and some don't so we can tailor that to a customer's preferences.

Same thing here. I forgot my xcal at home so he used a nee one to tune and when he plug mine up with zack tune numbers got better.

Great to hear bout the trans tune. I had his previous trans tune but he couldn't find it so he sent me his finalized trans tune.

I have Lidio tune and a zack tune. I think zacks tune gave it a little more power. I also just got a tune from Marty but I haven't uploaded yet because my marauder is put away for the winter. Can't wait to try it out.

I've only had DRs tune outside of Zack. Once I switched to zack I was like "wtf was DR doing"

I went from Zack 355 street tune To his 410 tune and its perfect to me. I can't speak on others tunes because I've never had them.

Mine was opposite, it would lockup when I didnt want to. I punched it on a roll and the TC locked just before the down shift and stayed locked which bogged me down instantly. I turned around and promptly replaced it with my previous tune.

Yeah , been through that 6 times with DR's tune. Nothing like not being able to break traction for nothing, and feel it run noticeably slower at WOT then at 3/4 throttle. Flashing CEL and O/D lights were also par for the course.

Mine stumbles into 3rd and locks up right after and in forth has a lot of lag.

Had zacks first tune and LOVED it but now he sent me the finalized version cause he couldn't find the first one so now I think I have his 2.0 I think.

Yeah I thought my MM lost compression or had issues cuz it wouldn't break traction for nothing ...smh horrible. I didn't have the light issues tho. His tunes are a thing of the past now.

There's pretty much no conceivable way he hit that power to the wheels with the mods listed in his sig. on a stock cubes/heads/cams engine.

I think that that's supposed to be crank HP.

Does my sig say RWHP?

286.24 RWHP /.8 = 357.8 HP at the crank.
296.82 RWTQ /.8 = 371.025 TQ at the crank.

Wise up.

I gained about 100 ft lbs of torque at roughly 2400 rpm thru 4000 rpm and roughly 50 hp at 3000 rpm thru 4300 rpm with my mods over Zack's tune and I have the printout to prove it from Tim at Mr. Norm's.

I didn't twist my stub shaft because I'm laying down stock power to the ground...............

Speed model. Max power did not change alot but midrange power increase is in the OMG! category. Worth the $350 entry price, wouldn't you say? And this is over and above Zack's tune which is far and away better than a factory tune.....

I had to scratch out the top hp and tq from this printout because Tim's computer was cutting out at top hp/tq on his rpm model that day. But the speed model above is accurate in top hp and tq and both model's are consistent with my overall claims....

We are making around the same power, I never damaged anything opening it up every now and then. ;)

Planning on taking it to the track in the near future?

Ok...back on to the original topic...

I had Zack's "vers" 1 and then "vers" 2.
With "vers" 2, when reversing the car allot of times the car would try and "grind itself" back into another gear! Too much line pressure or something I guess. But it was very painful to hear!!!
I went with a Lidio and all is good. Never had an issue.
Although Zack's feels faster, I really felt it "bog" when on the highway and wanting some "juice". (I would have to floor it at that point). Lidio's is there where I need it.

Come to think of it, I do think I experienced something similar, but in a different situation.

With the Lidio tune, there were times when I could punch it and I wouldn't lose traction until higher up in the gear. It's a strange sensation to be punching it and have great grip until like 35 in first (or even 60 in second) and THEN get a little spin action.

Tires with poor grip probably exacerbated the situation, but nonetheless it did serve to make the power curve a little more obvious.

When I get some disposable funds I will be having my local tuner dyno tune it. I'm on like my 5th DR revision. It holds first gear WAY to long then at light throttle jams it into 2nd. Very annoying when I'm driving slow through neighborhoods showing homes. He has worked with me and lightened it up quite a bit but the problem still remains. However everything else on the transmission schedule is great! If he would just change two tiny tables more than 2% I would be in heaven.

Same peak power, but what about torque down low? What could twist the shaft besides torque out of the hole and powerful shifts?

Can't wait to take it to the track this spring!

My mechanic thought the same thing when my stub shaft twisted and shattered itself into pieces, it didn't make a terrible lot of sense to me though considering how many cars had the same 4R70W running WAY more power than I was and holding just fine.

My thoughts were either that the MM is just too damn heavy for high HP and a 4R70W, or (kinda stemming from that first thought) the 4R70W was inherently weaker and that's why the 04 models received the 4R75W.

Mine is seriously 1-2 at 17-18mph (regardless of throttle load) 2-3 at 22mph, 3-4 at 37mph. TQ locks either shortly after the last shift or at 50mph. Haven't figured out an exact on that because it is intermittent.

I HATE my 1-2 shift!!!!!!

The old extreme tune program was awesome on my 03' because I had full access to adjust the transmission. It was perfect.

Mine is wierd. If I let off and maintain speed once in 3rd it will lock below 40mph. However if I stay on the throttle and accelerate slowly like a gentle on ramp it will lock after going into OD around 50.

Mine is set to lock up around 48 in 4th only, not a second sooner with the 4.30's. It used to be 65 in 4th with 3.55's and would unlock when I slowed to 35 (most exit ramps) tip in response in regard to unlocking has never been as low as I would like and requires almost 1/4 throttle. I can live with small potatoes like that, simply click the OD off and bam, no more locked up.

I still use the Extreme Tune program for mine with Zack's ver 2. I've had both versions and the 2nd one is better, I only opted for a dyno tune because of doing a full exhaust minus the headers to be safe and still running Zack's trans parameters. All I can remember is I have my 1-2 shift set at I think 15 mph. I have the converter lock up @ 55mph in 3rd gear and in 4th above 47 or 48 mph.

I've adjusted the shift schedule and converter schedule so many times I can't remember much of what I've done.
