Every car I have ever owned has had tinted windows. The Marauder when I got it had NO TINT, and it was driving me nuts. I drove the car for about 6 weeks without tint and finally couldnt take it anymore. Heck, even my 5 year old was like, "daddy the sun is really bright in this car!" LOL.

20% Ceramic tint all the way around, local guy did an awesome job!

What are the window tent laws there? The local cops around here don't like the 5% on my black 03. I wonder why?

My MM windows aren't tinted either and it makes me nuts.....but I think it would make me more nuts to just tint the rear windows, which is all that is allowed in NJ!

I have 30% on the MM and 20% on my Taurus. Been thinking about getting the MM tint redone with 20%.

In my area window tint just atracks police attention.

Before NJ changed the inspection laws tint was no legal so I had to remmove it when I move back in '07. Inspection has sice changed but I never replaced the tint.

Slap 30% over top of it and will be slightly darker the 20%

Night time driving with a tinted windshield is rough. I did it for like a week beforr I cut the bottom section out and left the strip across the top. Too dark especially with DC interior. 5% all around is called sterotyping you to be a drug dealer. These cars are nothing but attention getters and these wheels look aftermarket so they think you are getting all kinds of money. I was ripped out of my car and had my car searched for no reason. He said my tint made me look suspicious and that I needed to get it removed.

Sounds like you need to move man, badge or no badge, you should never allow yourself to be treated that way. Check your state laws, but here you have the right to defend, yes defend, yourself against wrongful arrest and detainment.

As for night driving, I like it, gets rid of all the glare from headlights and I have never had any issues with visibility.

some ppl just cant pick up there belongings and move due to run ins with police or others. I've been pulled over countless times due to stereotyping but its just apart of the world. it will never go away. sometimes u just have to suck it up.

I put 35% on my front windshield and it loos good, not too dark but u can still tell its tinted. if these folk in Ga werent so anal about the tint laws i would have probably put 20 on the front.

I was asked if they could search my car so I agreed but then he proceeded to basically rip my interior apart and then when he didnt find a speck of anything he just left it a mess and gave me a written warning for the tint. I live in philly which is like drug dealer heaven and they kind of have reason because most drug dealers would find a marauder to be an appealing car. Blends in pretty well sometimes. I had nothing to hide at all so I allowed him to go through the car and he was just so mad when he didnt find anything. I wouldnt keep the front tint because I dont mind being able to see the sidewalk as I drive down the street. I have awful vision also so it just adds to that. I love the way it looks though

Had 2 cops behind and next to me tonight on the way from work. They didnt even look over. However, I was waiting for it. Around here it just depends on what county your in. I was going to just do 30 on the sides but decided against it. Almost all of my car have had 20 on them since I was 16 with only being asked about the tint once.

I am glad I didnt get pulled over tonight.......... woulda sucked rolling the window down after getting the tint done yesterday. How would I tell the officer I bought the car with the tint on it but not be able to roll the window down, LOL:P
Been there. I was pulled over 7 hours after having my tint done and when they walked up to the car I had the windows up and they knocked with their pistol in hand and used the flashlight. I sceamed "im opening the door the tint is less than a day old."..... well I have to add that this female cop felt threatened so she called for assistance as the handcuffed me and rolled my windows down anyway. Luckily my tint guy was cool as hell because he just re cut the windows that were messed up.

this is correct.

when I got my tint done for the 1st time the shop had 4 levels to choose from: 50%, 35%, 22% & 6%. at first I went with 35% but it wasn't dark enough. I took my car back & said "darker please". he said ok we can do two things: take the tint completely off & install 22%. that way you know precisely what your tint level is. but it'll be a couple hours.

or we can slap another 35% later on top of your existing tint. it will be darker but we can't tell what the exact level will be. could be 28%, could be 20%. it will take less time too. so I had them throw another later on & was very happy with the result.

a year later after getting my first tint ticket, the LEO put the tint meter on my car. 11%! :cool:

The only way to stop getting pulled over for tint problems is to GET THE MAXIMUM TINT ALLOWED BY LAW IN YOUR STATE.

Very easy fix.......

I got the maximum N.C. allows and have never been stopped for having the tint too dark.

Laws here are no tint on the driver and passenger front windows and none below the a-s line or whatever its called. I have 5% all around and he said the back and back sides can literally be 0% but they are the only allowed windows. Since I take my car out at night a lot and late night im always harrassed no matter where I go. I was practically interrogated at a cvs once without even driving. All I say is that I have bad vision and the sun bothere my eyes while driving during thr day and that im waiting on the paperwork from my doctor. My uncle got that done before because youre allowed to in jersey. Philly is a little different but they are little more lax here.

Darn. I want to tint mine sooo bad, but it looks like trouble with the law still occurs, even when you are not breaking it. Still, I feel for the leos. It must be scary as hell to pull one of these cars over if they are known as drug dealer or gangbanger cars. They could get shot right through the window!

If pulled over for tint and I said its tinted because I hate society and want to stay blind to it, i would be pulled out or cut lose without even running my license. I will not findout the outcome until I have a ticket expense again.

I can tell u now... its not legal. there is a mark on the front windshield.. i believe 6 inches down... thats how far u can make the tint come down i believe. but i said f it.
from what i have heard u need a perscription from an eye doctor saying your legally blind or something and the sun affects your vision while driving.

True, its illegal except with a note from your eye doctor. But, if done correctly it will be impossible to see the edge of the tint, so they will know its tinted if they care enough, but they will not be able to prove it with a meter test. only way to know for sure is getting in the car and picking at an edge, which I know no one here would just let them do.
