Well, it's been god knows how long, an eternity it seems, that I've had this retarded Explorer that won't do burnouts! I WANT MY MM BACK! Anyway, stopped by the dealer to see her. I walk up and there's white ALL OVER HER! I'm like WTF... I find the clean-up guy and he told me it was just polishing compound. Come to find out the "pro" did I little wet sanding and polishing. Let me tell you, even with all the polishing dust on it, it reflected like black SHOULD reflect! Can't wait to see after it's all cleaned up! Only thing left is the bumper adjustment, and shift plate replacement. As far as the saet goes, SUPPOSIVELY they're going to unsew the panel and resew a new one in...? I'm a wee bit weary on this, but hey, I was weary about the paint too. So we shall see! Should be too much longer, I hope... :(

I'm in Mich and don't put mine away. On clear and dry days we are out and about in it even if it's once in 2 weeks. Unless you have it stored in a climate controled facility it's not worth it. Keeping it oiled and moving is the best thing for a machine.

Just in case anyone miss understood my message my MM is in the body shop. Nothing big just a nick on the rear bumper that also pulled the drivers side exhaust down about 1 1/2 inches. The parts are slow coming. Not pushing with the snow here. Should be out by 12/16?

I get to pick her up today! WOO HOO! Only thing left to do to her is fix my seat, which they are ordering the leather panel to re-sew in. I can't wait! I gotta calm myself though while I look her down and make sure EVERYTHING IS PERFECT...

Wet sanded the peeling spots (looked like the begining of orange peel, possibly from a little acid rain and no care while sitting on the lot). After wet sanding it, they polished and heavy waxed it. The scratches on it were probably buffed out, which I actually could have done myself with a little GS27.

Wow, talk about being a long time! Felt like driving a new car! ;) God I'm glad to have her in the garage again, only sad part about tonight is the '79 went in for body work (some moron hit me in a parking lot) and the truck is still outta commission. Gotta work on that tomorrow... The paint looks great, but it's dirty, and once again, they did a crap buff job. I'll get her all washed up, clay bared, and waxed here shortly. My dealer treated her to a full tank after pick-up, I was very happy! :D And my shifter is perfect, no more getting in and having my eyes automatically look at that AWFULL imperfection! Rattle is gone, and the carpet on that back door is stuck on right. All in all, I'm glad to have her home and am eager to get her spit-n-shine perfect for the holidays! Now to tackle that emblem issue...
