So lately we have been around -4 to 10* temp and when I cold start the MM I let it warm up with the defrost on. Problem is when I get in it reeks of exhaust. I'm pretty sure I don't have an exhaust leak, any other ideas? If I let it warm up without the defrost there is no smell. Are the fumes just staying a round the car because of the low temps? Could the egr leak and not make any audible noise?

Could be a small header leak. I had that problem with my shortys. I found two small leaks, both sides, both rear cylinders. I had suspicions and could never find them until the engine was out again. I did not hear any audible clues either.

From a cold start I noticed the smell coming from the passenger side next to the firewall. EGR passed the nose test. I'm guessing the mid-pipe somehow broke loose on the manifold or the EGR fitting cracked on the manifold. Good thing its not audible or really bad. I can't fix it right now anyway. My garage is occupied and I damn sure don't want to deal with 30 tons of snow melting onto me under the car. Tomorrow morning when I start it I'll hit it with soapy water and see if I get any bubbles.
