I dont see it hurting, just make sure you replace the fluid with mercon V. I drain the pan and replace my fluid every 25 to 30k

First, you have to define "flush".

The correct procedure is a fluid exchange, where the old fluid is expelled and new fluid pulled in, by the transmission's own pump. Only fresh fluid is used, no magic cleaners or solvents. The fluid should be Mercon V only, no miracle-in-a-can additives to "convert" the fluid. Once you have all fresh fluid, do a pan-drop every 20,000 miles (max).

If you follow the above, your transmission will reward you with a much longer happier life.

No matter what, you should change the filter out as well...it does no good to have fresh fluid and run it through a dirty filter...

+1 and +1..... also the gasket they give you if you buy a filter should not be used, the original gasket is able to be reused and therefore should.

Big +1 on that!

Justbob did my J-Mod at 40k, and already had a flush prior to that. The amount of material in the trans pan was amazing.

Well, while we were there, a new filter went in and good-to-go!

I get the tranny and rear end fluids changed as routine service. The first time I had the tranny done, I had a much larger aluminum pan installed (with a drain hole). While they had the pan off, the filter was changed and some magic was done on the shift points.
Pat Barrett, of "Level 10" in Sussex NJ, is a master of transmissions. The car shifts like a manual. I have the trans and rear serviced every 12,000.
I like oil coolers, clean oil, and synthetic fluids.
