Well Marauder Fam, I think the Mercury Gods have finally heard
my prayers. On Jan 18 @ 3:45pm I had the great pleasure of
Impounding a 300A out of a gated community for being inoperable (flat tires). Well it's been here in our tow yard in So Fla for 5 days now, Hopefully if it's works out, I'll be the owner in a couple of weeks ahead, gotta couple of pics also for you all to check out, also if anyone can
run a carfax for me it would be greatly appreciated thanks here's the vin:2MEHM75V73X630543

Now that's a car that meets the definition of molested. Good luck with acquiring the Marauder, I think you will restore it to it's former glory, over time.

Normally I would be all against the way you are getting this. In this case if it goes into the Marauder community, it will be a better place for the car.

The owner has money if he has a vanity plate. I don't see this staying in your possession much longer.

Gotta be more to this story. :dunno: Impounded for flat tires?? Seems to run OK since it got to operating temps before it was shut down. K&N filter. 167K miles. This doesn't seem to make sense that the owner would let it go for just tire pressure. I suspect health issues or hospitalization may be involved somewhere. Hope a family member come forward to claim it.

Good luck, guessing since it's set long enough to have flat tires, it will not be missed by the owner...

I've had vanity plates on about everything I've owned(Marauder excepted) and don't "have money"... Of course in VA they are ONLY $10 extra per year...

Maybe he didn't want to drive it due to the citations (the right thing to do) and probably can't/couldn't afford to get them taken care of to get the car back on the road. Great find NOT BEING NEGATIVE HERE but Maybe try contacting the owner and informing him what's about to go on rather then being overly excited to get someone else's car not knowing the situation. Could a be a good person who fell on a hard time is all I'm saying.

Good luck to you or him.

Great, so if the guy is overseas in the military... and the tires are a little low means anyone with a tow truck can take the car?

Wow that is so wrong.

In a "gated community," I'm sure they know who the owner is and exactly what's going on with the car.
Also, isn't the salvor is usually obligated to take specific steps to contact the owner before any final disposition can be made on the vehicle ?

ok guys give him a break im sure the car had to be sitting there for quite a while for the tires to go down and for the apartment complex to call and say come get it and who knows he probably abanduned the car and the apartment BUT FACT OF THE MATTER IS THE MARAUDER IS NOT GOING TO THE CRUSHER OR SOMETHING IN THAT NATURE SHE WILL HAVE A NEW OWNER AND BE WELL TAKEN CARE OF hell she may even join the boost club( CROSSING MY FINGERS)!!!! MrBluGruv
01-23-2013, 07:30 PM
I can't think of taking another person's car like that.

I couldn't even damage another person's car because they did something wrong to me just to get revenge.

I feel like I'm hurting a pet or a family member doing that, there are just certain things that you don't do to a person.

As a side note, I think this thread spells out rather clearly how frankly obsessive some people are about these vehicles; I mean really, because he didn't regularly pray at the altar of Marauder, he doesn't deserve to have it? And more specifically, he deserves to have it TAKEN from him with no compensation?

Wow that is so wrong.

Well seeing as how we are offered Free and greatly discounted Long Term Storage when we're deployed. This is clearly not the case.

And yeah bruh...low tires can and will get your car cited and towed if not corrected out here in the 7 Cities....I stay in Virginia Beach, and you don't even have to stay in a gated community or a place with a Housing Association to have that happen to you.

Buddy more than likely has gotten bagged, short on bread, or came up on something else that caught his interest and left the Mighty Mo' on the back burner. Wish I could come up on a find like that...I'd sell it and get my Eaton Swap going!

Not trying to rip off the public, or anything I'm just saying if no one claims the precious jewel it within the allotted time, it would make me a very happy towman to own the beauty, that's all I'm sayin....

I'm calling B.S.. You had the money for vanity plates even if it's ten dollars. That was ten dollars you didn't have to spend, but you didn't it anyway. If you don't have money, the tag would expire and you would park it backwards to a wall ton hide the plate to avoid finding a ticket on your car. Ask me how I know.

No one said they did. Just seems odd that the car would sit unattended long enough for the tires to go flat and no one bothered to contact the Impound Lot. I didn't even consider the "Jail" or "Military" angle. Maybe I should have. ;)

For all you bleedin' hearts that are pitying the owner, don't go to a city auction, most of the stuff there will be impounded for one reason or another...

Agreed. There are a lot of laws regulating salvors to make sure they aren't stealing cars - if it gets towed as an abandoned vehicle and everything's on the up-and-up, it is what it is.

And yeah, there's probably some story behind it, "There are eight million stories in the Naked City."

I am sure that Murked03 is operating within the law, he responded to a call made by the HOA.
Don't judge the poor guy, if it wasn't him it would have been another tow company.

I sold a 68 H/O to a friend back in the day, he smoked the motor (moron :mad2:) and parked it at the curb in front of his apartment complex in Lake Park Fl.

After it got the 1st towing warning I tried to buy it back.

Eventually it got towed. Somebody scored.....

the police in my city towed my moms 63 thunderbird off HER OWN property, and two other vehicles. My mom loved that car, but, (like others mentioned) due to health problems, the car sat. Then again, if its her property why should it matter? they towed the car off her own property and wanted hundreds of dollars she didnt have. Now the cars gone and she hasnt seen it since. My mom loved that car and I wish I could get it back for her... its just wrong.

That doesn't sound right if it is on private property, unless its being repo'd. Someone would get shot before taking my car off my property.

I've never seen a case where the owner wasn't giving some time to correct the issues or move the car... In my city the inspector will tag the vehicle and if no effort has been put forth by the owner, it's going to be towed... The police will be called if necessary and can arrest the owner if he gives the operator any grief...

Abide by the law, don't leave inoperable vehicles in plain view, and there are no issues...
