Anyone know where I can get a rear bumper cover for the 03 Marauder? Wife got rear ended and what I thought would be a simple repair turned into a nightmare. The body shop said they can put a crown vic type generic bumper on but that's blasphemy imo.

Rear bumpers are obselete, they dont make them anymore from ford, however i think you can get a Chinese one. Not sure on how the china ones fit.....we just had a post about this and a guy was looking to put one on their gm or cv....and you are an example of why i said thats ****ed up. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Thanks for the replies. I'm almost tempted to keep the stock bumper as it is...cracked and scratched. I feel like putting a bumper without "MARAUDER" written in it really detracts from the car.

There are lots of places here in Chicago that will repair them even if broken or cracked through. I grabbed a few over the years, good thing I guess.

Depending on the damage, these type bumpers can be repaired.

Maybe check into that?

Pics?

Thanks for the suggestions. It's not that bad, car is at the body shop so I can't give any pics. I'm going to look into getting it repaired.

My rear bumper was almost in two - at the right rear corner.
Spent over a month trying to find a used or better rebuildable bumper - no luck.
The body shop finally stiched the tear back together w/wire and used a flexible epoxy to fill/sand smooth. It's passable but if you get down on your hands and knees to look at it you can see that it's been filled/sanded but you can't see that it was torn unless you look behind it.

If I recall correctly at the MM.net Marauderville in South Haven someone mentioned the difficulty of getting replacement rear and front bumper covers for our cars.

Not sure if it was Steve Babcock or Jerry or someone else who indicated they were going to try and contact the original maker of the bumpers and see if we could do a limited run of them.

I hope I am remembering right because I would like to buy an extra set in case anything happens to my car. Has anyone heard anything on this?

Steve mentioned that there is preliminary talks with a company to reproduce "certain" MM specific parts, but of course cost of purchasing that tooling and a limited market may make it difficult to happen.

FORD owns all tooling no matter where it's stored. I think that Magna produced the F&R bumpers. Had my Son, whose company has Magna as customer, try to get a run but he was just blown off.

Have you thought about going to a used parts dealer/junk yard? They have a computer network they're hooked up to an can do a search throughout the network.

Good luck - I spent over a month last summer using the auto salvage yard search engines all over the US - turned up exactly 0!

That looks like the guy the body shop tried to get one from - it arrived folded over w/a permanent diagonal crease across the face of it. Totally un-useable!
