And welcome to the Marauder.net family. The NTM has been active since 2002 and at one time could put 21 Marauders at a show with one week notice---one by one the cars have been sold and only a few of the original are still around. It takes at least 5 cars to get recognised at a show, and it has been hard to find that many interested owners. We have many new owners in the area, but I haven't been able to get any activities going. I may be 84, but I can still put a variety of activities together with some cooperation. The 2013 car show season begins in April---there are numerous shows every week-end all over the Metroplex--breakfast meetings, picnics, visits to race tracks ( we have a sponsor club--Lone Star Cougar Club ---that participates in many local events ). All these things are available to us. Until you have entered a car show with a large group of Marauders, driven through town in convoy, you haven't experienced the pride of Marauder ownership.
Once more, I throw out the challenge --- come out of the shadows and give me the support, and I'll keep you busy all Summer. My cell phone is 817-296-3819--- my e-mail is cruzermm@aol.com How you spend summer week-ends is up to you-----Standing by to hear from you---let's reactivate the North Texas Marauders, Maury:burnout::beer:

The things I'm fixing on the car are "mostly" cosmetic. Previous owner didn't replace
any of the fluids, wore out the tires, didn't change the air filter, etc. Basic neglect.
I'm touching up the paint and I got a real nice wax for black paint. It has a ton
of rock chips in the front. I think previous owner drove it down dirt roads and
street raced it a lot. I don't think he was really aware of how special the car is. Well,
I am aware and I plan on taking care of it. I also have a 1969 Oldsmobile 442 that I keep
up. It is also black. I must be crazy to have two black cars in Texas....

Sounds pretty close ^^^^ to criminal neglect to me. Treating an MM like a Honda???

Oh, yeah. And when I got the car from the previous owner the only key he had
was the valet key. He didn't have regular keys. He broke one key off in the trunk
lock and left it there. Didn't try to fix it. He was the laziest guy. I got two Mercury key
blanks online. I ended up taking the trunk lock apart, taking the lock to a locksmith,
he got the broken part out and cut me two new keys off of the parts.

Got any pics of your new ride?
I'm always curious to see if the one I sold a few years back pops up again in the area.
Although admittedly, by the way it was treated, sounds like I may not want to know if it was mine or not. :(

I don't really talk to them and I'm sure I scare the
crap out of them as I back out of my drive every day.
I do have a few interesting cars on my street - a red
Alfa Romeo, '69 Mustang fastback, old VW Bug, a yellow
'50s Chevy panel wagon, and a street rod. We could
have a mini car show just on my street.

Welcome to the site and welcome fellow Texan. I live in Tyler so it is has been difficult to coordinate my schedule to make many of the shows in Dallas. Things are getting better so hopefully I may see you at an event soon.
I have registered for the Good Guys Super Sunday at TMS March 17th. It would be great to have some Marauders there.

That is one sexy 442. The MM is nice too. Welcome to the club.

My '69 442 is modified. It has a 455 cubic inch 7.8 liter. Original interior is mint.
The chrome has either been removed or blacked out. The bumpers were blacked out.
The fiberglass ram air hood and rear wing spoiler are off of a 1970 Olds Rallye 350. The windows are dark tinted, interior is black. My car club members call it Darth Vader.
I feel like the Marauder is the "newer" version of my 442. I got some touch up paint for the Marauder. As I said before, the previous owner was rather sloppy with his upkeep. I think he drove the car down dirt roads cause it has many rock paint chips in the front. I'm going to touch it up then wax it with Zymol wax for black cars. I use Meguiar's NXT Tech wax on the 442.

There's a few of us up North in the Plano/Frisco area. Cars and Coffee is this Saturday at Classic BMW, and Redline Raceway should be open this Saturday as well, if the weather holds. Haven't decided which way I'm going yet.

you should thank them for saving the enviornment and explain to them you are too by using cars that have already been made and are not contributing to energy being used to make new ones:D
thanks for doing your part:beer:
