I got some Cobra manifolds from Boatmangc about a year ago and Im thinking about putting them own next weekend. I found an X pipe on craigslist from an 08 GT Mustang. The guy says it was a custom X pipe made at a shop. Is the setup the same on a GT as our cars? or are X Pipes different?

Im also looking at 2 others.
Bassani off road X pipe off a 04 cobra for $150
and a
BBK High performance 2.5 H pipe off a 04 cobra for $100

Please give me your thoughts. Thank you

delete some rasp and get a magnaflow muffled X pipe or there is also a mac prochamber pipe setup that will bolt to cobra shorties.

That's what I'm running, and it works well.

You can probably crawl under your car and measure your exhaust if its not too wet out today. You might be able to compare his measurements to what you get from your car.

The custom x pipe probably bolts between the cats and the mufflers, so there is a length and 2 widths (one at the front and one at the back) you'd need from the guy selling on craigslist. If they are close (within an inch or so) you can probably fit it in pretty easily. Ratchet straps and jacks can be used to stretch in and push out if needed, but that starts to get frustrating pretty quickly.

Are you swapping the manifolds on yourself or taking to a shop?

Thanks SC and Babbage. Chris you make it sound so easy. Ive never messed with manifolds before so I did plan on taking it to the shop but I can turn a wrench tho, I just about changed out everything under the hood except for the block. How hard is it to change out the manifolds? will I need anything else like adapters or anything? or do that just bolt on

manifolds can be tricky depending on how rusty the nuts are. Spray with PB Blaster for several days before you do it. Then take a propane torch and heat up the area around the studs for 30 seconds. While still hot TIGHTEN them just a tick, then back them out.

If you snap a stud off you may have to pull the head or engine to get it out!
