What has been your experience with gas mileage since the addition of your FI system? Have you seen a noticeable difference plus or minus? I'm talking speed limit type driving highway and around town

Depending on your other mods of course but 2-3 mpg seems to be the norm if all you do is the FI and keep your foot off the go pedel which is not as easy as it sounds I'm told.;)

Buy a prius if you are concerned about gas mileage !!! That's what most people do!! Lol

Didn't say I was "concerned" just curious, do you have any constructive input?

I did too much at one time to tell you what made the biggest difference. I'm guessing the 3500 stall and the move to 4.10s did the most damage to MPG.

If I am lucky I get 17 mpg on the highway otherwise I bet I'm around 11 or 12. That's about the best in my stable so I can't complain too much

Don't worry about him, he's pissy cause he's getting 12gpm and now he has new gauges to watch it disappear.

I appreciate the replies, even the one about the Prius! I was curious because I am in the process of doing the eaton swap.

I only lost a bit (1-2) with the addition of a blower, still was around 20mpg highway with 4.10, headers and blower. Lost a lot more when the smaller pulley, low compression motor and stall converter went in at the same time. Hard to say which killed mileage the most. Now it's in the range of 18 highway, 14 city.

Mine has gotten better with more mods, I actually get 22-24 on the highway @ 80-85 mph as long as I stay out of boost.
When I bought it it was already a Trilogy car and I never got more than about 20-21 at the same speeds.
The addition of better exhaust, better fuel delivery, and porting the blower have all shown an increase in power and mpg.

However, I did have Jeff at Mo's set me up with a go tune, a valet tune and an MPG tune.

My theory, if I make more HP out of the same bore and stroke the motor has less work to do at the same RPMs as before.

I get 16-17 in town and 20-21 on the highway!!

I lost about 1 MPG but A LOT has to do with new found POWER and NEW driving style!!

The only positive I have is once you do the swap you will never look back!! Except to see if that wad the last gas station for 200 miles!!! Good luck and just DO IT!!!

I could care less about MPG.

It's all about how how many SPG my boosted Merc gets me.

Smiles Per Gallon is all I care about. :burnout:

When you are just driving normal you just have whatever your FI method is as a parasitic drag on the belt. It is very minimal. Usually what kills mpg in boosted cars is the lower compression. Most of the MM guys are running stock 10:1 comp so there isn't much change. But if you drop to 8.5/9.0:1 then you'll see a larger decrease.

Mileage isn't going to matter once you get into it. If your like me when you get to the light you hope someone pulls up next to you and gives the look. I don't even know if be does because I'm getting on it regardless. Enjoy your new found power.

Same here. My MPG's did nothing but increase with my Trilogy, even more so after my tune.

It finally went down with the 4.30's

^^^^^^ Same here.

If I keep my foot out of it, and hold speed between 62 and 65, I can hit 22.5 to 23.

Keeping my foot out of it is the hard part...;)

Stock, n/a, 3.55s = 21/22

Trilogy with 4.10s = 24 on hwy 75mph, 17 WOT balls to the wall. Doesn't get any better than that!!! :burnout:

I lost a lot of mpg when my car was S/C. If I remember it was around 11mpg@480hp (93octane and 4.11's). Now that its Turbo, 3.55's, E85 and 700+hp it is around 14.5mpg. With 93octane, 3.55, and 550hp it is 18mpg.

My God, that tax is such B.S.! :mad2:

I already consume more gas than a normal person would, gas is taxed and being that I buy it more often I pay more taxes. Now they want a gas guzzler tax? Don't get me going on politics. LOL

I believe in Anarchy!!!
