View Full Version : MM.Net Anniversary/Birthday
I have been here for awhile. I have seen and posted many birthday threads over the years.
The one thing I have never seen in my time here is a MM.Net anniversary/ birthday.
Well I have a question for all the old timers around here!
When did MM.Net first turn the lights on? (The first day MM.Net came online)
My guess would be sometime early 2002.
I have never seen this question asked here before.
Did we miss the MM.Net 10 year anniversary? :depress:

Doesn't seem to be much interest in celebrating when MM.net came about...it's a shame since it has offered so much to all MM owners over the past 10+ years.

This was why I asked the question.
I have made several long lasting friendships and have learned so much about my marauder. None of this would have been possible without MM.Net!
I think it deserves to be celebrated!

That ^^^^^^^^^along with the original owner, Logan already mentioned, who started this site was what "merc" beat me too ----------------But--
Here is a bit of infor DOOM you may not know-----
Sliding your mouse over a posters screen name gives you their numerical place in the order they registered--while on their name looked at the bottom left scroll of info and the last set of numbers at the end tell the count ----in my case --I was the 393 rd person to register---.......kinda cool!
Doom is 7867------now you know the story for Bunny's 3 numbers in her sig---------

Yep, that's the date "Logan" is listed as joining. He was the founder, owner, dictator, moderator, chief cook and bottle washer of MM.Net at the beginning.

Just as described--slide over screen name on any post--look bottom of your screen and the number to the right after all the info is their #---it will say something to the effect of -mercurymarauder.net forum member #. etc-

This is starting to sound like a build date post.
Should we start another thread for join date?
My vote :beer::beer::beer:

Holy crap (can I say that) Mike is in the house. What next, the return of Jerry Barns or maybe Logan.

OK.
Mary and I talked about this, and after digging around in the VBulletin software...
Logan's join date was March 26, 2002.
Which means the site was up and running, MM.net was registered and VBulletin installed.
March 26, 2002 is our anniversary date.
Thanks Jake, for starting this thread!

Mike.
Let's do an early MV-11 (I don't do Roman numerals) celebration of MM.net.
Marauder Burnouts Across America (Worldwide) on 3/26/13 at what time? It's a Tuesday.
Yes.
A worldwide, simultaneous, burnout.
Who better than MM.net?
Who will contact Guinness Book of Records?

I joined MM.net in July '02 as member # 92. I had been following the Marauder since late '01 and knew Logan from the other web site. As soon as I heard of his site, I came over. Living in Ft Worth, I had the pleasure of knowing Logan personally and participated in the planning and execution of the first Marauder Roundup at Ennis. I have had the pleasure of spending over 11 years in the Marauder Family and this association actually changed my life ,as it has changed Marty's and Mary's and so many others. I am doing everything I can to make Louisville and Atlanta. Ginny's health has to come first--I'm asking my daughters to stay with her so I can come--keep your fingers crossed. I want to bring the Marauder to both, but I don't know if I can risk making the trips alone-- again, last minute decisions will have to be made. Time has a way of offering solutions. Looking forward to meeting you who have joined since '05. If you go to the posts in late '02 , you can follow the events leading up to and including the Ennis Show---makes interesting reading. Drive carefully , but with GUSTO ! Maury:burnout:
