I was walking to my car this morning and hit the remote start, it cranked and did not start, opened the door and put the key in the ignition cranked it and it started with no problems. Then i noticed a pretty big cloud of smoke from the exhaust. let it idle with some revs for about 5 mins and the smoke stopped. drove it for about 10 miles and everything seemed fine. and no it has not been a while since i cranked it (18 hrs). any ideas? thanks Sam

you should be alarmed only and i mean only if it's blue.

in which case i'll take it off your hands and no more worries....

oh, did i mention blue as in DPB!!!!

A small cloud of oil smoke is normal if it happens occasionally. Why the car wouldn't start using your remote :dunno:

Sometimes (very rare) I hit the auto start on my cars and it doesn't start the first time. Both cars, my crown Vic and my marauder. And the smoke is very common. I wouldn't worry about it.

When I auto start and it doesn't crank the first time it will automatically crank it again in about 5 seconds and then it will start. I have a viper on the vic and a python on the Marauder.

Sometimes my old marauder did that minus the smoke but I dount the smoke is an issue. Just try starting it again with thr remote if it happens again.

If it sat overnight sometimes the crank timer doesn't quite line up with the car (cold motor, fuel pump etc...) and it won't start first try but wait a few seconds and try again it should be fine. No worries
