Man I did something really stupid... so I'll pass it along to maybe help others here on the site...
Just ordered two new front tires for my 2004 Mercury Marauder. Ordered original equipment tires... I ordered them because I had noticed that the outside edges were getting a little thin...tread wise... (see photos of outside edges...)
I checked my records and I had installed the new front end settings that I got here on the Marauder site and was hoping for pretty good mileage... I installed two new original equipment tires in November of 2008... So I check my records and the mileage was at 48,000 and the mileage now is basically 87,000........................ ..................WAIT THAT'S 39,000 MILES..!!!!! "Holy rubber meets the road Batman"
So I figure that's unbelievable...but I recheck my records and it's true...!
So now I figure I better take some photos and send them along to my friends over at Marauder.net....
I turned my wheels to the left for the photos... the first one attached here is the LEFT tire... no tread left on inside edge...!!!
The second photo is the RIGHT tire... the white line along the inside edge is exposed treads...:shake::depress: :mad2::lol::banghead::dunno:
I always check my tires, but I hadn't gotten down and looked way back underneath....there is not icon with a dunce hat so this will have to do...:loco:
Learn from me... get down and look back under there...

That shouldn't have happened with carfixers specs.

Your bushings may need replacing..... Thats what happened to my fronts after only a year....... Getting a front end alignment to compensate for the bushings is a temp fix (thats what I did) but they will need replacing or eventually your new tires will look like that....

What bushings are these and what would this cost...?
Thanks, Architect

That's what my fronts looked like, and I had less than 40k on them. I assume they mean control arm bushings and I probably need to address that as well

For all you Marauder owners running stock BFG's on the front, watch out.
In addition to my needing Carfixer's alignment specs to reduce inside edge wear, seems the tire itself is having a little "separation anxiety".
A shout out to McCormack Racing (Karen & Zack) for getting me into new ones within a week.

That's the inside edge by the way,my tires did the same wear but not as bad.I switched to Pirelli's will see how these wear.
