My Marauder has 205 /70 R14 tires. I want to go up to 15 inch wheels. What size tires are you using without body/wheel well modifications?
I really don't want to go and buy tires and find out that they are too big, or that I could have done well with a larger size.
Thanks for your reply

I've got a '65 that I'm getting closer on the restoration. I'm adding a disc brake kit and will be going to bigger tires and wheels.
A couple examples of what I'm considering........

(Martyo posted this a few days ago.....at the shop where my '65 is being done)

Here's a Galaxy done similar............I'm going for this stance.

.
Stock OEM was 8.00x14, though a popular upgrade was 8.25x14.

I believe the 1st gen with Super Marauder 427 option got 15" wheels from fact...

My '71 Nova had 195/75-14 for years and I upgraded to 225/60-15 with no mods to the car. Overall tire height was very similar and but noticeably wider....still fit perfectly.

With your 205/70-15, I'd recommend 205/65-15 if you want the approximately same width / same height. 225/60-15 will be about the same height but 20mm wider and should still fit most older cars.

BFG T/A Radial I see on a lot of classic cars and they come in both sizes I recommended.

The main thing is the rims. Make sure you get a rim with similar offset / rear spacing to your 14s. For example, if you have 14x6 with 3.5" rear spacing, a 15x6 with 3.5" rear spacing and 205/65-15 tire will fit practically like stock.

Hope this gives you an idea. :)
