Got pulled over again last night for my exhaust. Thankfully it's just a warning but how is driving "normally" out of a parking lot, to a stop light and then about 1000' on a main road all going under the speed limit WITH the trooper behind me "driving veh in manner to intended to cause excessive noise". Told the trooper the other trooper's name that pulled me over back in June of last year and that the ticket was thrown out of court, of course I didn't say it was because the trooper had been in an accident and couldn't make it lol, so just got a warning.

I am waiting until I get my new motor put in and see how much increase of exhaust tone I get if any then will figure something out to either stay with current setup or go quieter.

I mentioned to the trooper that the car is a rare collectors item and haven't made replacement exhaust parts in years, mine started to rust out and replaced it all with better the factory so that it will last for many many years, oh and is 100% emission legal. LOL

That's a good excuse, I'll have to keep that in mind. When i got pulled over the Trooper was telling me that it's illegal to put on any aftermarket kind of exhaust (in VA). and I thought to myself well thats funny since there are lot of rice-rockets and mustangs/camaros all over the place w/ aftermarket exhaust.

Anything aftermarket exhaust replacement is going to be crush bent aluminum which if you daily the car and it sees salty winters the pipes could rust through in just a few to several years. It's illegal here in MD as well to alter the factory exhaust in a manner to cause more noise.... so why aren't more diesel trucks pulled over that have stacks or 5" exhaust tips throwing out lots of black smoke.

I think your concern about the trucks is valid.

Next up on my list to do is give Mandrel Bent Solutions a call. Want them to redo my exhaust, take my Aero's off, install my Flowmasters, install my 4" tips and make it purr.
Get the Raven special! From stock manifolds back, you'll just need to get new cats or Greg at MBS can advise you. If you do get an alike setup to mine make sure you get some v-band clamps installed in front of the mufflers so the whole front exhaust section can be taken down/off for any trans/driveshaft work needed.

It actually is illegal to have modified exhaust in VA, believe it or not. How many trucks and sports or muscle cars do you see with stock exhaust though? 40% at least have aftermarket mufflers I would guess. On the other hand, my Mustang is L O U D .. long tubes, 3" x-pipe with no cats, Spintechs with turndowns, high compression engine, cam. You can hear it from many blocks away. Sometimes I honestly feel bad driving in residential areas lol. I've never gotten an exhaust ticket for it, and I've sat at stoplights in front of cops, passed them on the side of the road many times, etc. The one time I've gotten an exhaust ticket, in another Mustang, was when I was showing my ass on a rolling burnout and the exhaust ticket was a "mercy" ticket.

With most cops, as long as you're driving like a civilized person, they'll overlook it. There's always that small percentage that you just run into at the wrong time

It doesn't bother me that I get pulled over cause I know I was not doing anything wrong.

It's illegal here in MD as well to alter the factory exhaust in a manner to cause more noise....

First you say your not doing anything illegal....

Then you say the law says you can't alter the factory exhaust to cause more noise, which you did..... :dunno: :dunno:

Personally I'd think it's too much of a hassle to keep getting pulled over. Eventually you get pulled over by the same LEO and will end up in court.

Sounds just like the guys that tint their windows too dark and wonder why they pulled over for having tint that is too dark. :shake:

I meant as I wasn't doing anything illegal to grab the attention of the office and warrant the traffic stop to begin with. The trooper was cruising around bored as could be.

I had mentioned that I was pulled over for my exhaust before and which trooper made the stop which is the reason the trooper only gave me a warning (as he stated on video/audio recording).

I've been pulled over for my 30% tint like 6 yrs ago and only given a warning for it. As much as I would have liked 20% I knew that would give more reason to be pulled over.

I sure am glad I changed to LED lights inside the car cause I knew he could clearly see in and felt a lot safer.

Or maybe, MAYBE, it's to see if the trunk is all the way down and locked so when you walk by it to sidle up to the driver window you don't hear a loud "CLICK" and turn around to see the instructor leaning out of the trunk yelling "you're dead, dumbass." Just sayin....:alone:

Ticket says "driving in a manner" not "modified to make noise" so unless you were dogging it, I'd call B.S. on the ticket. Or at least go to traffic court. Who knows, he may do this so often the judge may catch on and start letting people go.

Sucks about the warning. It's one of the reasons I want to get rid of my Aeros. I have to be careful when I hit the gas. I don't like the obnoxious sound of the aeros when I hit it, so I usually keep the throttle down low until I get up to speed.

I got pinched going through the toll booth over here in VA. Slowed down, paid the toll and was accelerating back up to the speed limit. Not excessive or anything, but just accelerating back to 50-60 MPh and I get the same Warning.

Checkout all of the above---you have theses mufflers recently installed---.........so Have you had any problems to admit as yet---...........I kinda agree with the collective.........they sound great .............but the hassle of the LEO's is not worth it-----------in time if you have not been bothered---you just will In my Opinion........have fun!!..and good luck--------!

All you criminals that break the law should be taken out to a river and dipped in it a few hundred times. The first thing you should have done is hand the LEO ear plugs.
The only way you get stopped here is if you have factory exhaust and tint.
Haggis make a note, new country will not give tickets for exhaust noise and burnouts on highways.
