IS ANYONE WHO STORES THERE CAR FOR WINTER GOING CRAZY RIGHT NOW!?!?!? I loooooooovvvvvveee to drive and have a car especially my Marauder. But being a Freshman in college I dont have any car here and mine is stored for the winter. I am beyond anxious and cant wait for Spring/Summer to drive the hell out of her! I best not be the only one. The next weekend i go home to visit family, first thing im doing is propping the door open and firing it up. I miss the sound of a good v8. :bigcry:

Well,

I see mine about every 2 weeks, and luck would have it that I got to take her out today for decent little drive.

Met up with a new member - L.Mark (Bill) that just joined and compared our DTR's while BS'ing.

Good times.

She's sitting out back, beside the boat. We've got a foot of snow today and I don't know if I can get her throught the snow for a trip to Florida next week. Driving (pun intended) me crazy.
First winter I have her her away.

I saw my DBP for the first te in about 3 weeks today when pulled out my van and then tucked my DD in next to it. All I want to do is drive it!!!

I'm lucky enough(or unlucky) to drive mine daily. Or someone elses(Mike):D. I do the same with my Mark V. In the past 10 years I've only put around 1500 miles on it. Has high miles anyway. But it kills me to put her up for the winter. Not sure I could not drive the Marauder at least every week though.

I was lucky enough to drive mine a couple weeks back when the roads were finely clean of salt, just took it out for a short spin though...now have a major storm moving in and probably wont be driving the merc for a while!

Fellow Michigander agrees!!!!!!!!! I'll settle for a dry salt free road day just to take her out and warm things up.

This is the first time this winter that my 64 Galaxie and 2003 TBird will most likely be holed up for a while.

Until this storm, I've been using both cars once per week all winter.

For a number of years, I had three toys, a 58 Squarebird hardtop, the 64 Galaxie convert, and the 2003 TBird.

Never put any away in hibernation, but some winters called for less driving than others.

(The 58 was sold a few years ago.)

Sure, but first, what's an alligator?

Can you train them as pets to fetch the paper? :):)

Anyway, this is the first bad storm this year, so we're ahead of the game.

Hi Trevor M

Nope I am having so much fun floating around in my Town Car.

I haven't seen my Marauder for three months and it will be at least another two (maybe three) before I go and rescue it from storage.

Regards

Dereck

Two years ago, we got 60" of snow. Last year, we got 9".

If it weren't for this storm, this year's total would be less than last year.

I plan to charcoal a few steaks tomorrow night (35 degrees/6 mph wind).

Sucks big time!!! Everytime I take out the grand Marquis out of.the garage instead Of the Marauder...a.little part of.my soul.dies lmao.
But I do love parking my 1990 GM next to all the "muscle" and "tuner" cars at campus...they think Its funny how a mercury can compete with their fancy toys.
I'm just waiting till spring to shut em up!!!

Drove mine twice today, it loves the 40 degree air.

This was a blizzard we got a couple weeks ago. As you can see, a half inch of snow and the streets are empty.

Stuck in Phoenix airport for a few hours after a 4 day vacation visiting friends. He has a Chrysler 300c and the sound of his dual exhaust got my blood pumping. Due to a long story, I'm storing my Marauder 2 hours from my bed. I haven't even seen mine since before Christmas. Right about now (early February) is when I start watching any youtube video I can find featuring a Marauder.

So, yes, many of us are feeling the pain. :(

Yesterday we had about 14": of snow. Today, the streets are mostly blacktop, and I'm not on a main drag.

I took a short walk along a 6 mile pathway (Saddle River Pathway).

The path was so clear, folks were bike riding!

The downside?

My local taxes would choke a horse.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

It runs even faster this time of year!

I wish someone would make a heated 1/4 mile track so we could race when it's 0 outside and see what kind of times we could pull.

I refuse to let my Marauder see salt or snow. I barely drive it when it rains at that haha. This car is gonna last me forever.

A Mark V, VII and a Marauder. You have the greatest collection of cars on here.

I can see my Marauder under it's car cover parked in the 3rd stall of my garage, but the battery is disconnected so it's not going anywhere until the snow is gone and the first major rainfall has washed all the salt away. I'll roll back the cover every once in a while and take a sit in it.

Wow you are missing out. A car probably has ten good solid years if properly maintained. Your "preserved" Marauder will still give you the same issues any car it's age would. The only difference is the exterior will look nicer, thus making you more angry when your "nice" looking car gives you the same issues. Electronics going out, fluids needing to be changed, mechanical parts going out. etc.

So, store your car. Enjoy it less. Age will catch up to it no matter what, you might as well enjoy it in it's "youth".

Ok I'm done. :burnout:

Thanks...to add to that If by some miracle I luck into my parents cars, I'll gain another Mark VII, an 20th Ann. Cougar and a "standard" 68 Cougar. Ganna need an eighty car garage:confused:.

I agree but im not worried about it yet. Im only 18 so really im enjoying my youth! When those things do go wrong i want a clean, perfect exterior and interior so i can just drop in a new crate motor or be able to play with it and build it into something sweet. So i personally think it could be seen either way. I just prefer my way more! But i do not have a problem with a good discussion. :)

I bought a new TBird 4.6 LX back in 1994.

It took about 13 years before the body exhibited rust in one spot, just before the rear wheel, driver's side. Never garaged, driven daily back/forth to work, 75 mile round trip, from 1994 until 2007. (Sold/2012)

My wife's 2004 Lincoln LS sits outside, and is used daily. No rust spots showing (yet).

With 4 Blizzak snows, car goes pretty good in moderate snow, but, we have no urge to take her out in really bad snow.

Traction Control is a nice feature, but you have to know when to turn it off.
