E-450 shifter linkage ???

My sister has an RV based on E-450, V10. It has slipped out of PARK once. I assume there is purely mechanical linkage from the shifter to the trans, correct?? Any known issues?? Thanks for all good replies.

Is the shifter sloppy? Sometimes the bushings can wear out and cause play.
