Can't say exactly how long since I rarely use it but the past 3-4 months the times I have tried to use it nothing happened besides the car coasting down in speed. No CEL and nothing really different on the car. I cleaned my TB several months ago but have already checked the linkage and it's attached and tight.
Any ideas of what else to check?

Curious as well. Mine stopped working and I have no blown fuses or anything that stands out. I even changed the top electrical box on the cruise control box and still no help. There is a electric motor inside that may have failed or the brake switch like was mentioned. I just haven't had a chance to really dig into it.

I can't remember the last time I used it before I had my adjustable pedal gear fix done or when I installed my radio with the steering wheel control adapter.

I had to have this part (YF1Z-9F924-AB) replaced twice after my adjustable pedals were installed. It lists for $26.33. It also has a Motorcraft number (SW-5955).

Got a diagram or picture of the part and where it is at?

This might have been a side effect of the pedal repair. Check out the below link for the fix:

Common problem. You need a cruise control servo. I just replaced the one in my Town Car last summer, and 2 weeks ago in the MM. I painted mine black so it looks fantastic. Takes about 5 minutes to replace.
Here's a link:

This is not the exact one, not listed anymore for some reason, so call them. But I got mine from these guys for $75.

Install for this afternoon for work was a no show (shocking) so I pulled the MM in and saw the deactivation switch was not fully seated in lock position. No time now to test drive it so I will do that later, hopefully that's all it was.

When I did mine I had no problems with the cruise not working, DOOM if your monitoring did you happen to test yours?
Ctrl, the switch is tough to get seated correctly, also check that link I sent earlier. Let me know if you cant get it to work, I can meet up with you to take a look at it.

I'll check out the stuff on that thread and test this evening or tomorrow, just doing the process of elimination one step at a time.
It's not a real big concern if my cruise control doesn't work since I hardly ever use but there will be that one time when I want to and can't.

We're good, just needed to adjust the metal tab for the cruise control switch.
Got to love multimeters.

Vegasmarauder posted about this issue when he did his pedal gears. I have had one that was not seated all of the way.

Now my next task is to find out why I can push my brake pedal fairly slowly almost half way before my brake lights come on. The brake light switch is pretty loose.

Replace the switch. They get bent over time.

That's what I figured since I can move it up and down a little less than half an inch travel.
Came up with the part number W0133-1698913 just for a future reference if searched.

Replaced the switch and I can press lightly on the brake pedal with one finger and brake lights come right on and stay on. Was starting to worry with the old one because I could hold the brakes and then lightly let off but still holding the brake pedal down some and the lights would go off.... I was just waiting for someone to smack into the back of me.
Motorcraft p/n is E9TZ-13480-A, took maybe 3-5 mins to replace. Switch should run between $18-25, I got mine at cost.
