My door got frozen shut the other day and a guy from work recommended using tire shine on the weather stripping. Anybody do this? He said hes never had it happen since he's done it.

Not heard of that one before. I would try silicone spray first.

Most tire dressings that leave a shine contain a silicone compound. As Mike suggested, a straight silicone spray would probably be better, especially if you accidentally brush against it with clothing.

While you are at it, put some silicone spray in the window channels.

Silicone spray on the weather stripping is the way to go.
Gotta love auto start! :D

I wax the doorjambs and the inside of the doors where the metal parts meet the rubber parts. Not sure if that helps, but I've never had an issue with doors freezing shut over any of the 4 Panthers I've owned...

It is great. Need a way to turn on the heated seats too.

Wax works, but silicone spray will stick to the rubber weather strip.

Hold the door handle in the open position, put your finger tips between the door and roof and pull the door open. No need to buy anything.

You also take a chance of ripping the weatherstrip.

I tap the door inwards with my hip when its frozen and that breaks the seal every time
