Will the set up 235/55 front and 245/60 be ok to run on the MM with the TC?

it falls into the 3-6% range so it should be ok, altough it is approx. an inch taller than factory rear but same width so your speedo will be a little off.

It can't be corrected with my xcal?

Stock front tire diameter: 27.3"
Your new front tire diameter: 28.2"

Stock rear tire diameter: 28.6"
New rear tire diameter: 29.6"

28.2*.05 = 1.43
28.2+1.43 = 29.63 <- this is the max rear tire diameter

You may or may not be good, depending on tolerances and if the car's sensor supports up to ~5% rear tire larger than front tire and if the sizes/dimensions of these tires are correct and accurate. I used this site,
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Also, you can correct speedo with xcal, but you can not correct the TC limiter at 35mph. You would have to turn off TC everytime before driving.

I have larger fronts on mine and need to hit the TC switch before I start out otherwise the speed is limited on the highway.

It's sort of a good theft deterrent. If someone steals the car and gets into a chase situation, they won't be able to get very far unless they know to hit the switch.

So I'm stuck with having to turn off the TC or keep the stock tire size

What sizes are you running front and rear

Why choosing those sizes?

I've ran these combos
235/50 F
255/55 R 695 revs per mile
&
255/45 F
265/50 R 710 revs per mile

No particular reason.

I kind of hate the midget tire look up front and the rear just because the tires are sitting around brand new

So then, the chosen rear tire is an almost perfect match to the chosen front (29.63" required dia., 29.6" actual).

So, this combo should be good to go without problems.

Also just remember the taller the sidewall the more flex it will have and handling can be reduced. I noticed a big improvement when I went from 235/50F and 255/55R to 255/45F and 265/50R.

The 255/45 is .3" smaller than the 235/50.
The 265/50 is .2" smaller than stock 245/55 and .6" smaller than 255/55.

That's what I thought too. But I guess I was wrong.

I don't race it at the track or live where there are bends, turns and etc. it's normal driving so the handling difference probably would go unnoticed by me or be minimal. I'd go stock BFGs if they were still around they were great to me

If you like the stock sizes..Take a look at the Cooper Zeon RS3A..I have them and so do a few members here. They are cheaper than the BF were/are. better treadwear rating, grip great in dry and wet..It's still a high performance tire for daily driving and spirited driving.

I went with 1 size bigger sidewall and on highway lane changes are sketchy haha. I would not recommend it. A lot of flex. Had to burn them up. What a shame lol.

I don't take my car up in the mountains and hit the bends, I'm just talking about normal driving, off/on ramps, lane switching, emergency lane switch or to avoid an object or animal. The best way I can describe it is I feel the road more which helps me control the car better.

What size options for the rear tires do I have when running a 235/50 up front that will keep my TC happy as far as taller/wider etc?

I'm just curious at what else I can look for. Thanks

255/55 is 695 revs per mile
265/50 is 710 revs per mile

in case you do get either size, those are the revs per mile you would have to use to correct your speedo via hand held flash tuner.

What's a good match to run with 295/45 that will satisfy TC?

the 295/45/18 (708.83 Revs/Mile) is nearly the same height as the OEM 245/55/18 (704.93 Revs/Mile).

So the front tires should be between 723.01 and 751.36. The OEM size 235/50/18 is 740.06 Revs per Mile and should work just fine.

I've read good and bad reviews about the 295/45 rh06 hankooks on the rear with STOCK width wheels. Are they really bad or it's personal preference about the feeling?

I have a crazy deal for em and want to know before I pull the trigger on them.

Its more of a safety and tolerance thing. Some here have said that you are pushing it above the 265/55/18 on the stock rim. Others have gone with wider tires on the 8" rim. I don't screw with tires or brakes and defer to the safety side.

The 265 tire is 10.43 inches wide or nearly 2.5 inches wider than the rim. That's essentially a 1.25" bulge on either side. The OEM set up on the rear allows for 1 inch.

The 295 tire is 11.61 inches wide or nearly 3.6 inches wider than the rim. That's more than 1.5" on each side.

I understand. I've read the same things you've informed me about here. I'm still undecided.

Anyone currently have them on stock wheels now can say a few words??

You didn't read my post above did you? The 235/50/18 should be fine or any size with comparable height and revs.

295/45 is 28.5" tall and 709 revs

You could use

255/45 27" tall and 746 revs
245/45 26.7" tall and 756 revs
245/50 27.6" tall and 730 revs
235/50 27.3" tall and 740 revs

I think the 255/45 and 295/45 would look the best. It also depends on what Hankook has in size as you want to try and stay same brand/model tire all around to ensure all tires tread react the same to road. Different tread patterns will react different to the road.
