Shifter question

Hi All: Is there any adjustment to the shifter assembly?
When moving manually through the gears there seems to be more slop than when new.

You have to do it under the car.

My shifter was aligned wrong when I got it back from a trans rebuild.

Basically, the shifter is connected to a cable, which is connected to the selector arm of the trans. You can adjust the fore and aft feel/position by changing the position of the cable on that arm.

You REALLY need two people to do it, one under the car, and you in the car moving it backwards and forwards once it's tightened to make sure the feel is right.

It WILL make a difference, once I got it lined up right it felt better than before I sent the trans out for rebuild.
