Thanks I went to the ford dealer and they told me that ford doesn't make them for our cars no more so. Which was 340 dollars. Jegs have the cobra diff for 266. The only company makes the same carrier for our cars is this aftermarket and its 465 dollars looks like I will be getting the cobra one does anybody knows the difference

look in ford racing's catalog im sure you could get it cheaper. if you are using stock axles, make sure you get one with the 28 splines

My car came with 31 spline axles

8.8 31 spline differentials are a dime a dozen when they came from Explorers, F150s, Expeditions, and 2005 and up V8 Mustangs. I read that the spider gears are different in the IRS differentials. They may not work with C-clips.

I have a 31 spline unit out of a 2006 Mustang GT but I have someone in line before you.

All Marauders came with 28 spline axles.

If your Marauder has 31 spline axles someone changed them and the carrier.

You can get a carrier from a recycle yard and spend a few bucks on new clutches.

I doubt that. MMs came with 28 spline axles and differential unless a CVPI unit from 2005 and up was swapped in. (Add another one to the list available.)

All marauders came with 28 spline axles, Ford didn't have 31 spline axles in 2003 for panthers. if you have 31s someone swapped them out. if you have the 31s tousley ford has the best prices on the diff, less than $200

Clutches are available seperately. Spider gears, on the other hand, are only available with whole differential.

I still have the original carrier, a new clutch kit, and two worn Dorman 28-spline axles which Rock Auto is willing to replace. My plan was to rebuild it to sell as a whole unit. As cash has been really tight, the parts are taking up space in my garage. I'm open to helping another member if I can.

Phoebe needed a second set of axles last year (don't ask) and I had it done at a highly-recommended shop. He had to order them three times as the company he deals with sent 31-spline axles twice, claiming that's what their computer showed. So the OP is partially right...

Just go this route these are proven to withstand A LOT of abusive, and this is the best price I've found so far for them. Sound of advice if you do purchase these make sure you truly do have 31 splines in your car other wise your just wasting money on the wrong part. If you haven't had somebody physically check them and tell you that you have 31 splines best bet is you have 28's back there. Good luck man
