Hi everyone,

The wife complained yesterday that while idling in the driveway gettting the kids out the marauder got really hot and started to steam a bit...she said gauge was just under the H. I checked it out, had a weak upper readiator hose and I changed that. Upon doing the refill proceedure documented here, noticed that the electric fan was not coming on? I have read a bit about this, temporarily try knocking the control module with a wrench, then look for the fuse, relay and try jumping the fan motor to the battery to make sure that's not the issue.

My questions:

- I don't have an opwners manual, can someone please tell me where to find the fuse and relay for the fan?
- Are there any common issues with the fans/modules? Easy fixes?
- if i need to replace the module, can someone give me thepart number? I know to go OEM, and all I can find is the complete fan/module assembly.

The guy who had it before me said he had to replace the module - I don't know if he went oem or aftermarket.

Thanks!:burnout:

Replace with OEM parts of the cooling fan motor and control. Just ask others about the aftermarket units. Swapping the fan unit is not hard. Good luck.

Yes get the part from Ford. I did not and the aftermarket fix and it stopped working at MV-VIII(lasted on even 700 miles), lucky for me Russ stepped in and hooked me up:up:

Don't do aftermarket.

Ok - I must be stupid - found the fuse location (number 102) but I can't see which relay is for the cooling fan? Can someone point me in the right direction?

It also appears I can't buy just the fan controller and motor - only the entire fan assembly for like $375 to $400! Is this correct? If so - I can build a pretty baddass fan/controller combo for less...anyone do the junkyard thing for these parts?

Local j yards have fan motors and controllers for under $100 with warranty...oem, may go this route unless someone advises otherwise. And yes, the one in the car right now that was replaced 6 months ago is aftermarket!
