I was looking at two used sho' in my area, one being a 2010 the other a 2011. 2010 has 67k miles and the 2011 has 29l on it. My consideration was trading my 11 cv with 33k and my 03 marauder with 145k on em. I don;t think I can, one I think it would be more fun to mod the mm and two I know my cv will outlast my but. My bigger question is how crazy could it be to work on a all wheel drive twin turbo v6? And is it worth getting rid of both the cv and themm for this sho? Any input on this?

It depends what you are trying to accomplish and how much your finances can flex to make the switch. I estimate that it will cost you at least $4,500 and probably more (maybe up to $7,000) to do it. Is it worth the extra??

I have a 2012 Taurus SHO (12K miles) and a 2003 Mercury Marauder (91K miles). I like 'em both; but for different reasons. The SHO has lots of bells and whistles and the power is awesome. More so with a Livernois tune. The MM just feels so great on the road, handles well and sounds awesome. Still think the MM is my favorite although the SHO is now my daily driver.

Here's the math ---

1. 2011 Crown Vic, $17.5K Retail excellent condition (33K miles). Trade will probably max out at $15-16K.
2. 2003 Marauder, $8.4K Retail excellent condition (145K miles). Trade will probably get you no more than $7K.
3. Combined value max is $25.9K. May only get you $22-23K in trades.

The 2011 Taurus SHO (29K miles) retails for about $30.4K. You will be a minimum of $4.5K short on trade and possibly as much as $7K short (unless you can find a bare bones SHO with few options) My experience was that they are all fully loaded with features such a moonroof, heated and cooled seats, multi-CD, adaptive cruise-control, collision warning sensors, back-up camera, etc. In the SHO, that back-up camera is an absolute MUST have since rear visibility in backing up is very poor.

Why do you want the SHO and how much are you willing to part with to make it happen? Your savings in insurance coverage won't cover the difference. JMHO.

Given those circumstances .... I'd probably stick with what you have since the CV is pretty new anyway.

yeah this is true, and as you described it is loaded. There is a 2010 sho locally but it has 70k on it. You know for the difference in what you pointed out, the money could be spent wisely on the marauder and it is paid for, the cv is pre-owned cert. so no worries there. Maybe I should consider just spending the money on the marauder making it just a little more entertaining. I had a hair because I wanted sc marauder that TFB has on our site for sale, but I haven't found a buyer for my king cobra so right now I am at a cross roads. Glad I posted this question.
