What personalized lic plate would you get??
I went to my DMV website to see what was avail.
Available plates are: MASKED, 0-60 N 6.
MERCURY was taken.
I had a lot of fun seeing what was avail.
Here is the California DMV lic plate website. Just choose "AUTO" and "NOT LEASED" and pick any plate style and press "NEXT". You then type in the plate. It will tell you instantly if it is avail or not.
https://vrir.dmv.ca.gov/ipp/PerLicensePlateServlet
You should check you state's DMV to see what is avail.
Anyone have any good ideas?

That's easy ---got mine here in NC as --"MYRAUDER"--kinda lets the printed version in the rear bumber come to life--doesn't it!

MYRAUDER - I guess NC allows 8 digis in plate?
California only allows 7.

YIFNYCDI, it answers two of the most asked questions. Yes it's fast, and no, you can't drive it:D Plus, it's really hard to write down, if you happen to pass somebody really fast:rolleyes:

Directedby- ---Thanks for the compliment--actually--The idea came from my daughter--said to me one night==hey Dad-- "Your new car should say it's yours--you know--it's yours --so when you you look at it--you say to yourself--It's myrauder--so why no a plate saying it?" So I thought--why not-- it says it's mine and explains what it is for those who can't figure it out--Poor wannabees---Gosh -Why can't I think of those neat simple things( 8 digits allowed )--Oh well--again -thanks for the compliment ....I thinks it's cool as well---Go Rauder!!!!!!!

Hey Marauderman,
Is there a website to check and see if a personal plate is already taken like the Kalifornia site? I have tried in the past to get personal plates in the past and had to go to a DMV building which is a pain.

Director:
Just checked the Calif. State website you listed and "VRYFAST" is already in use but "MENACIN" is available. The word menacing seems to fit the MM like a glove.

Illinois has a special license plate in support of the Illinois Police Memorial Fund. There is a 25.00 fee above the cost of the plate, and that money goes to support the families of cops killed in the line of duty. Good cause, I like helping out.
The plate is uniquely marked with the words "Police Memorial" on the left side, your plate number in the center, and LE on the right side. Because it is issued first come, first served, I have a low 3 digit number.
Maybe this is why I don't get stopped, and others won't try to pass me in traffic?

Sarge: You're in a MARAUDER! No one passes you unless you let them, right?

Actually, I had a little fun with this effect a few weeks back. On weekends, I'm driving to work on the Dan Ryan at 5 AM, and the road is clogged with drunks heading home from the boats in Gary, usually at 70+ MPH. It's like a Winston Cup race! I set the cruis at 50, and NOBODY would pass me. It was just too funny!

Hey Piglet-
In my case , a personal friend is a local city/county cop and he stops by regularily and I had him run the several ideas I hadf for a plate on his cop car computer to see if any came up .....if you know of any cops ..ask them ..saves a lot of time in the DMV line as you said! Also gives you a good way to meet the local cops by asking them this kinda favor--some will and some won't --afraid they will get into trouble with " too many tags to look up at one time" ( as the computer is monitored also)-

And Piglet-- I'm sorry- I forgot to answer your original question- NO - I do not know of a website here in NC you can look-up plates for determining vanity use.... Sorry--

Actually, Directedby, your first suggestion was excellent. Get yourself an MM, add a gear, chip, stat and plugs, and order the 0260N6 plate.
On second thought, follow Mensrea's plan, and order 0260N4...

Nevada "MARAUDR"
I have seen people sitting behind me reading the plate, and (with the look of confusion on their face) read the bumper. Then they get it.
Nobody knows anything about our cars, except us. Man i wish there was more adversiting.

Actually, 3 weeks ago I thought of O26OIN6 in CA, but the trouble is CA doesn't allow the use of zero's so I had to use "O;s" that didn't look as good, plus that combo is already taken I believe. Don't know how you get the dash, but if you can get O-6O N6 then go for it!
My all time favorite "HWYSTAR" has been taken for years; Too many Deep Purple fans my age I guess!
