Hey guys I have been on the forum for a little while and have talked to a few good guys but haven't posted much. I have 2 marauders both 2004 one black one silver both with less then 12000 miles. Other then that family we have 3 other panther bodies, 2 crown vics 00 and 04 and and a grand marq 04. Now after that here is my question do any of you have classic car insurance like Hagerty? My concern is the value of our cars and the possibility of replacement of a low mile car and what that would cost. I have Country Companies now which I love and get a good price but im afraid G-d for bid something happens to either car where will I be. They don't offer a value insurance where Hagerty does. I know a lot of you are knowledgeable and have been in the Marauder world longer then me any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys and gals for reading.

I don't have Hagerty's on the Marauder, but have it on my '66 Mustang. I don't recall the stated value of the policy, but they will require the car to be garaged, can't be a daily driver and there's a mileage limit. It only costs me about $150 a year.

I've got Grundy, 35k declared value, about $800.00 per year.

I have American Modern (METLIFE) on mine.
Agreed Value os $45K which is just over half of investment.
6000 miles a year, garage kept. $1100 a year.
I've had Hagerty on my '63 for 3 years now. Lots of restrictions, but haven't had any issues. I would use someone else if I drove the car more.

i'm going through the process myself on this. and yep it's a little annoying. one place gave me a price of $154 on a 67 mustang (20K) and almost a $1000 on an 03 marauder (20K)
how are two cars with the same agreed value so far apart? both with a 5000 mile a year limit?
also grundy is giving me crap cause my daily drivers aren't 08 or newer WTH does it matter?
i'll post up what i get on a couple more quotes and let's compare notes.

Get the actual policy definition of what is paid when there is a claim.
Generally - Stated Value is the max they will pay, not the amount. Agreed Value is the amount they will pay for a total loss. Actual Cash Value - everything must be taken into consideration, resale value, etc.

Might want to check into JC Taylor. I listed my daily drive as my '92 LSC when I put insurance on my 79 Mark. There is a mileage restriction though, to and from meets. I told them I don't take it to meets and get it out about once a week to shine it drive it and put gas in it and they said it was fine. I haven't put more than 2000 miles a year on it since I bought it. Think I have it insured for @ $5-6000 with a yearly of @85. Got to bump up the coverage soon though. They also insure my Dads '68 Cougar. We've had no problems but also have had no claims as yet.

Update on my findings.
JC Taylor said they wouldn't insure a car less than 19 yrs old
Hagerty seemed comparable but its on a case by case as far as NOS goes, I told them it was a show car and it won't be used and they said apply but no guaranteed until it passes the underwriters.
American Collectors was the same price as Hagerty, but said absolutely no trips to the store or ice cream shop where as Hagerty said it wouldn't be a problem.
I'm going to work on a couple more tomorrow but so far I want to use Hagerty if they'll have me with the NOS. (Hag. Wants under hood/trunk 1 ext and 1 int picture) (American wants one exterior)

THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!
a lady at grundy gave me the name of that place last year and i lost it. she was out and some guy there wouldn't give it to me the other day:mad2:
i just called them and they have unlimited miles and just ask that it's NOT your daily driver) 2 pics required
you can use your car to go to dinner and leave unattended at a show.
i passed on the towing option (covers $250 for $10 a year) but i don't like dealing with reimbursement for little things.
here's my quote:
67 mustang 20k
03 marauder 20k
04 marauder 50k
0 deductable 100/300 liability
$1690 per year for all three

I have Hagerty on my 70 Bronco, agreed value of 25K. they were the only ones who would insure it because it is "modified". it has a 3" lift and 33's and a fiberglass tub. I pay about $150 a year. Any modifications to a vehicle gets most places pretty excited.

Yeah, unfortunately Classic Underwriters won't write paper in my state. Hagerty doesn't care that I only drive my dd '95 Suby once or twice a week as I take the bus most of the time.
Anyone use Geico's collector car insurance?

Hagerty, 110.00 per year on my 74SS Nova. Hurricane Katrina put it under water. They send out a guy to validate the claim. $10,000.00 to me, bought it back for $2,000.00 sold it for $14,000.00 with salvage title to a plumber.
It was original with 24K miles.

Yes, but the premium goes up accordingly.
Don't forget to ask the little questions like can I take my wife (or in your case brad) to dinner and leave the car unattended.

Rocky I did miss the Nova and the plumber uses it as a burn out vehicle. I bought the car fro $64.00 from a real old lady. I felt bad for messing with her and took her to lunch. She was a fast driving gal. But the Nova needed work.
Jerry I used the money to buy Blue.

Bumping this thread because I have been going back and forth with Classic Underwriters for an Agreed Value. I don't have any limits on mileage, my Marauder is garage kept and I can still drive it to and from work/school/car shows etc. The paperwork she sent over seems to have the collision and comprehensive coverage that I'm used to with Nationwide right now. The savings is close to $900 a year. I'm excited but before I pull the trigger, I need some advice from folks who have Classic Underwriters:
Has anyone been in a small fender bender or accident? How was the claim process? Was it easy and were you able to get OEM Ford parts for repair? Were you able to choose your repair shop? I need to know this information because right now my Marauder is my primary vehicle. I have just been fortunate that I have been able to borrow a car from my parents or my in-laws for the winter and for driving to/from work. When I filled out the application online to get a quote I said the Marauder is garaged and I do have another primary vehicle (which is sort of true) but in the event we need to give the car back to the in-laws, I am driving my Marauder every day again.
Thanks in advance

I am insured through them, I have not had any accidents, as I don't drive my MM that much, honestly....... my oil is rusty from not being driven.:D
That said, I would not lie, and tell them that you had a DD, if you wind up having a claim, and it comes to light that you have no daily, and that you were dishonest on the ap, they may not pay your claim, and drop you all together, just my 5.0 cents worth.

I emailed Classic Underwriters for a quote today and was emailed a reply declining becasue I said I would use the car as back-up transportation only in summer if primary vehicle was say in the shop for instance. They won't insure it if used as back up transportation and I was only using a value of $15000.

using the car as a back up would practically be the same as deeming it a daily driver in an insurance companies eyes.
this is a question where answering like a boyscout never goes your way.

I understand that, but if something were to happen and I told them no back up transportation use, but I really did becasue I was say in a pinch at the time, they could decline it very easily. My regular insurance isn;t bad at all, but it isn;t for a agreed value so ithought I would look into it since my renewell is coming up.

Gieco question... yes I ahve two garaged cars on Gieco's plan. It is a "CALL TO USE PLAN" meaning you have to call them and tell them you are going to drive it. They reimbuse you fo the time perios between drives-- after a 30 day window... so it really doesnt help to much as you pay in advacne and get reimbursed. You are allowed to dive it around the block, to get gas, and to the mechanic without notifying them... if they are all relativly close.
Please POST your numbers, contacts at the insurance places.
I'd love to move my Marauder over and insure it at 20M minimum.
