The first get together for 2013

So I decided to start a new thread, it is 2013 and all.

I propose we look at a Sunday mid April, and choose a spot.

One option, on the third Sunday of the month, the EuroSunday car club gets together for a car show. I have a friend who brings his SuperCharged Lotus and I have joined them a couple of times. Maybe we join them (I can ask), have breakfast and take a cruise. It is always on the 680 corridor, so maybe a cruise up to Blackhawk for the car museum tour -- not sure if they are open on Sunday.

We could pull a Saturday, but I am usually not available until mid afternoon (kids have baseball). Could meet at Blackhawk, check out the cars, awesome photoshops opportunities up there, and then to grab a meal together.

A third option, Alameda Sherriff's department offers a driving course for civilians. It is on Saturday (I believe) and is about $70 IIRC. They allow you to drive your own vehicle on the track. Maybe we all take the class together and then run are own cars on the track.

I was lucky enough to go on track with the Fort Worth PD at Texas Motor Speedway? It was a blast. 1st an instructor would ride around the track with an instructor. If he felt you were competent, you go on your own. Later, they had "Fox and Hound". A CV would chase you with lights but know siren. One of the MM guys really smoked them.
Anyway, do you know any details about the Alameda driving class? Where do they have it? Depending on your insurance company, you can get a discount on your insurance. My company sent me through the "Smith Driving School Course" and I got a discount good for one year from State Farm. The Smith course was kind of boring, but I didn't complain about the discount.

So April 21st is the EuroSunday monthly get together, in Moraga. They have a variety of pretty cool cars come out. For the Feb gathering, some guy was giving rides is his GTR folks. Cars that come, Lotus, modded BMW's, GTR, Lambo (sometimes), etc ..

Generally they get together in the early morning hours, hang out for awhile and then some go cruise. I have been to two, IIRC and neve cruised with them.

So my thought is, meet with them in the morning, 0830 or something like that, eat breakfast, and then cruise out to Blackhawk Museum. They are open from 1000-1700 on Sundays. They are located at 3700 Blackhawk Plaza Circle, Danville. Depending on where in Moraga they meet, this is about a 20 mile (20-30 minute) drive. There looks to be some other roads that we could take there, that would require more time, but more fun in the curves ...

Admittance is only $10, kids under 6 are free if there is a paid adult with them.

If folks wanted, we could grab lunch before/after the museum.

I suggested the ALCO Sheriff Dept course, but that is $300 and only offered on Saturdays and there are only 3 spaces left through July. This is probably not something that we could as a group, just based on cost alone.

Brian might know a good mechanic. I would ask him. Otherwise, there was another norcal member here that worked at a dealership that was willing to work on them for members. Can't remember his screen name but I think he was closer to North Bay. Other than that, I had my cylinder head done a year or two back at Tracy Ford. Its still holding up. I've not really taken it anywhere else yet.

Since your in Sac. AED would be your best choice. They know their stuff and have worked on a few members Marauders before. Including Brians Boss Marauder.
