I need to know if a regular double din stereo fits without shaving anything off.?

No. About an 1/8" top and bottom or one of the two. Can't recall.

I had fastblackmerc install a Kenwood DD unit in my MM a couple weeks ago. He had to shave the top/bottom of the factory opening (about 1/8") and cut some of the bracketing near the back of the opening (where the back of the new head unit sits) to create room for all of the wiring.

Wasn't difficult...took about 10-15 minutes with a Dremel/utility knife. A trim plate around the unit makes it look like it belongs very nicely.

I love my double din. Did take some work but well worth the result.

+3 on trimming also there isnt a lot of room in the back for all the wires, just take your time and it will turn out well.
