Yup.

Nope.

Spend your money on other mods, you'll get much more bang for the buck...

Its one of those small benefit mods that really works when you have other mods to allow it to work.

Silly question... does the car actually need to be retuned for this?

Slightly more plenum volume...might be worth a little power with some other mods....:dunno:
I put one on my intake, but never dynoed it by itself to see if it was worth anything in the real world.

Will this one work???

EDIT: This is throttle body. Will this do anything? LOL

If you don't wanna give an extra $25 to Dennis I found this...

I just can't see where this would be a worthwhile purchase when there are other proven ways to make power and this has been shown to have little positive result.

I don't know what else you can get for $100 that MIGHT make 4-8hp.

I don't know if I believe it actually makes 4-8 hp, and I'd be interested to see a dyno sheet to see the curve change more than someone just telling me it'll make that much gain. Also would like to know what setup changed to get 4-8 hp. Just doesn't seem like this particular area is a genuine shortcoming for these motors...

I would assume it does little to nothing with a completely stock car.

Already blown with headers.... I can picture a positive result happening.

The benefit will be slightly increased throttle response....perhaps. No noticeable HP increase on the MM to the best of my knowledge.

Top end perhaps????

It really comes down to if there is a deficiency present in the flow of that part of the motor. I'd rather put $100 to a port and polish job on my existing intake manifold myself, as I imagine you'd see much better results there.

In racing, every bit of horsepower helps. The accufab throttle body gave me a additional 1rwhp peak but gained 5 across the range. I've had the spacer on my car for years and even if it gave me a additional 2hp then it's helping not hurting me. Cars have been running spacers for years, whether its under a carburetor or behind the throttlebody, there are even high rise intake manifolds that work on the same concept so it's gotta do something.

Did you notice a top end difference?

It's been on the engine forever so I do not remember what improvements there were. It did bog me off the line when I first installed it but that may have been the DR tune.

Agree, (and sorry for resurrecting an older post.) I tried to do this on my 300B, but I just couldn't get the hood clearance to work. Even the CM underhood insulator fabric had to be modified for my original JLT CAI, and it gave me fits, actually scraping the underside of the hood metal. There is not 3/8" of clearance when the hood is down, let alone enough room for the intake spacer. I eventually went to a Metco tube and PHP CAI combo and was able to keep the insulator, but the spacer had to go.

Lot's of little mods don't add up to many RWHP gains, but put them all together and it all helps, especially on an n/a car IMO.

When I had my stock hood on, my JLT intake was the only piece to hit/rub on the hood, that was even before I put the intake spacer on.

I did it and saw a small gains. I have a few mods though. Doing it alone I don't think will help anything.
