DTR w/ Blacked-out Grill Teeth

Is plasti-dip available in colors? Flat black or gloss?

yes I believe you can find plasti dip in most any color. my local Home Depot only carried black but you can find & order different colors online

First DTR I've seen done this way. The Silver Birch's are awesome this way. What about doing the area surrounding the fog lights? I kinda fooled around with this in Paint on the computer(all I know how too do) to see what it would be like and it didn't look bad to me.

The black grille tends to look "right" because you're used to seeing a million Crown Vics like that. The body-colored grill is part of what makes a Marauder a little different IMO.

I think I may want to try this with Plasti-dip. Nothing permanent. Now for the other decision...gloss, semi-gloss or matte...

Agreed. This probably looks good on the blues and silvers too. too bad it's not reversed for all the blacks.. painting the teeth on a black marauder blue or silver or red... i don't think it looks as good.

I've only used plasti-dip on my wheels, but I can tell you, even after a devastating total loss accident in my first Marauder, the plasti-dip still is holding up just fine!

Actually thinking about this a little bit more, it might not be that bad for a Black owner. It could be nice accent actually. I will have to think about it, but perhaps having the teeth painted red to go with the red calipers or painted blue for the blue calipers. IT could potentially work, but I don't want to do it to my own ride

It lasts a pretty good amount of time! The more coats you add the better it'll protect, last longer, and easier it'll be when you want to peel it off. (Im not saying to go crazy and add 10+ coats id say with a good 3-5 coats would be good enough) :D good luck!

Ryan managed to hit a deer over New Years and his original grill was destroyed so he purchased my spare black badge less and bolted it on so he would make the meet. This is only for function, not form and plans on having it painted DTR in a week or so.

Man. That is another great picture. Awesome. Wife bought me a Nikon 5100 camera. I plan on playing with the camera quite a bit this year.

As for the meet. I completely forgot about it. But I doubt it anyways.

Third coat of Plasti-dip on the teeth just went on. Another couple of light coats and dry by morning :)

Plasti-dip also sells a glossifier. I tried a couple of FLAPS and WallyWorld without much success. I was thinking a coat or two of just regular clear gloss. The only difference I can see is the gloss wouldn't be as resistant to cracking.

Thoughts anyone? Cons?

Pro - The gloss would eliminate some of my DTR's wind resistance.
