I currently have the factory exhaust, with two minor changes. Ported factory iron manifolds and flow master mufflers. The sound is pretty good, but not much louder than stock. I like Magna-Flows better, but car had FlowMasters on it when I got it. My conical air filter lets quite a bit of blower sound out. Intake is stronger than the exhaust for now.

I would like to upgrade the exhaust, but have several concerns from past experiences. 1) Exhaust leaks. 2) Drone. 3) Loss of fuel economy cruising due to too large of diameter tubing. 4) Loud noises giving me away at the first touch of the go pedal.

Has anyone been able to pull off long tube headers and keep the car being a sleeper? How many people have tried long tubes and resisted the urge to replace the rest of the exhaust, H pipe on back, except for mufflers? Those that have gone all the way, any been able to keep it quiet? Headers and exhaust leaks typically co-exist. And removing the factory cats makes the car much louder.

John, look at my setup if you want quiet. 25" Dynomax Super turbos with a magnaflow tru-x muffled X pipe in the middle - no rasp. Quiet as factory at normal operating speeds and throttle, you'd never know I had longtubes. I have the 3" SW 200 cell cats on mine and they work well. No leaks used stage 8 locking header bolts and some header gasket goo (just to hold gaskets in place on the headers)

Mandrel Bending solutions sells the over the axle pipes. Of course you can get a catback from Stainless Works too, but their turbo mufflers are loud from what's been reported.Do you have a shop in mind that can do mandrel bends and stainless near you?

Same here quieter than stock. SW long tube metal matrix high flow cats delete rear cats 2.5" pipe to magnaflow mid muffler 2.5 pipe to stock mufflers. I can listen to my music hold a conversation great combo.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I ordered a set of Stainless Works headers and cats to mate up to the factory H pipe. I'll start here and see how I like it. Will likely make a few more upgrades to down the road as well.

Your exhaust is only quiet on start-up and that's it.

The Dyno Max Super Turbos will really keep the car pretty quiet, and no drone. Mine do come alive under heavy throttle though.

These will help with the exhaust leaks........

I ran SW long tubes and their catted mid pipes to the factory H-pipe back. It did pick up significant tone and sounded fantastic but remained almost stock like under normal conditions but really screamed at wot.

Going from their 2.5" mids to 1 7/8" crimped H-pipe is not ideal I still made 300+ wph NA. Bodyman is making ~550whp through a stock H-pipe.

I ran this setup with the cat less pipes for a few months and the sound probably doubled.
