Hey all,
Was just seeing if there was any interest in 4 Marauder wheels I bought a while ago. I have not even had a set of wheels on them yet and bought them from a member on here a while ago, liquid. It is about $200 from what I've been for each rim to have the permachrome treatment done
I will have pics up later tonight. Price is $2,100 OBO
Here is one of his pics that compared old wheels vs permachromed wheels.

Honestly best I personally can tell you is google it lol. The guy I purchased them from is the one that had it done. The only thing I can tell you about it is it makes them look really good in my opinion and really makes them "pop"

I don't understand why someone would Chrome wheels that were Forged Aluminum-Alloy Wheels? Maybe it's just me but if I wanted Chrome I'd buy an aftermarket set.

The same reason that Terminator owners change the factory blower on their cars, because as car guys, we can't leave well enough alone.:D

As many people as I get that ask "Are those chrome wheels stock?" they might as well be chrome.
Triple polished aluminum only has such a shine depth to it, when they are chromed a lot more depth to the shine comes out.

I get that.. I've done mod's but I keep the factory pieces that's been replaced. We've all done that. Did you see the price they wanted to do a set of MM wheels? $900 with a $1000 Dep. With that money I'd leave my good and expensive set MM wheels alone and buy aftermarket.. Better yet, sell them to someone that wants OE. Don't want to get into a scrap. That's just a greasers opinon.

It would be a big deal, except my car has been modded, and I am sure the next guy that gets it will want it that way as well. Also, I have several sets of wheels, widened, stock, etc...
But I understand your point.

You get the $1000 back. I didn't think it was too bad a deal considering the price I got for wanting to restore my OEM rims off the LSC was real close to this price and they weren't chrome.

I can see why we like the nice shiney ones. They are very nice. As a purest I like the stock rims.

Lighter so better fuel economy than chrome?????
Looks nice but I think the fuel economy thing might be a little hard to prove!!!:bandit:

Can't get our wheels as aftermarket, therein lies a problem.
BTW, chromed OEM wheels are gorgeous in comparison to the factory polish and clearcoat.

Your post has certainly made the phone ring @ Permachrome....... I need a pair widened prior to the coating, I inquired about cutting a set and widening after Permachrome, so, I would consider your 4, it would give me 2 spares, and then I need to get a widened pair done up.
As I said, if your price is negotiable, then we can deal, otherwise, I have 4 wheels that I can have done.....

Im confused as to how you paid $2200 for them and to get them done the price is $895 w/ a $1000 deposit which you get all back depending upon the condition of your wheels when you sent them. If you ask me thats way over priced but I may be wrong.

I just sent mines out to get permachromed 795.00 for the chrome. 100.00 shipping there and 100.00 to ship back. Should take a ten day turnaround.

First off, why are you trashing someone's for sale thread?
Second, it's $795+ $200 in shipping charges, what's a set of wheels worth, I'll answer that for you, at least $1000, the extra $200........convenience of getting it now, as opposed to waiting.

Looking at eBay and wheels going for 155-300 depending on condition and knowing it will cost 1000 to have them dipped the $$$ seems fair, just a hard sale to most MM owners who already have a nice set of wheels and would have to sell their wheels to recoop their $$ and pray they get the better side of market price. Seems legit to me, may just need to hold out for that buyer...sorry just wanted to put in my 2cents GLWS
