Where did you find the Trilogy? Was it a member's car?

Give up the details.

Also, are you looking at the Black in LA?

What about this one? I was asking the previous owner about purchasing this car back when I was looking for my Marauder.
For that price and your budget you could buy it and ship it.

Thanks FF1 for the link.

That car is a STEAL at the price... but has some cosemetic issues (center console, etc...) AND a salvaged title.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.... I'd just rather buy a spotless one, as I am not looking for the project, but rather the opposite, the SUNDAY FREEWAY MONSTER!

FAMILY VACATION MISSLE!

There is a Super nice Black on Ebay... I am talking with the owner now. My heart still wants SILVER... and I've only found three or so that fit the bill (1 I MISSED BY ONLY 15 MINUTES, 2 has more miles that i'd like, 3 on ebay now--but is a rust bucket-being sold by a grumpy sister for a grumpy brother--sold and then not bought--as I think it is the proverbial "fright pig")

I have a bank check ON MY DESK for another --but the seller has issues: no auto insurance --so he doesnt want to let you test drive, no auto registration --just asking for a ticket, cars has been in storage --delayed matenence of about $1,700 to get it back to standards, and when you put all of the above together... it make it tough to buy.

I flew in with a check for asking price to buy the car... and then thing on the car did not work after he assured me before flying in that everything worked (peddals, car sits real low in rear) etc...

So I am asking YA'LL to keep an EYE out. THANKS

My $.02, I think you need to look at this again.
You were originally looking at a 156K N/A Maruder that you would pay $6500 for and then have to put in a lot of work and another $1000 + to replace broken and missing parts.

Here is 45k Mile SUPERCHARGED Marauder for $10800.00, a car that would cost you $17-$19K if it wasnt for the salvage title and $14-$16 without the supercharger. You have the cash in hand, so a bank loan isnt the problem and if your insurance wont put full coverage on it, you can find companies that will. The bank issue is what is keeping most of those buyers from buying it in the first place.
You sound like the kind of guy thats going to buy a Marauder and own it for a LONG time. So am I. I was going to buy this car 2.7 years ago, but it sold before I could close the deal. Its a steal. Replace the cup holder if it bugs you and you are set.
Trust me, once you drive a S/C Marauder you will be hooked!

You are NOT wrong!

I did look ahrd at this car--I am a little OCD, and the few things that are wrong with that car are the few things that I would see all the time.

That car is an extraordinary deal...

I did review the pics, and still have them!

Sorry son the missle has been sold :D

But since you have a blank check here you go

Bottom line if you have play money just state EXACTLY what your looking for, s/c, mods, mileage etc. they are all out there and they all have a price. Put out 11k on a car that needs no more than 2gs worth of work to make it cherry and that work is done within two weeks. What's so hard??:bop:

Also IIRC that SC'd MM has an eaton swap. Eaton swap in Cali is smog trouble.

nothing hard lji372...

The 22M miles car on eBay sold before I could get money down on it. I prefer silver... Have only seen two low mileage clean cars in 8 months... in silver birch.

Q... Did I step on your toes or offend you in some way?

If so, my apologies...

No, my bad...

Read into the comment too much. Sorry about that. Clean low mile low modded car. $16,000 should be realistic! While there are many cars for sale right now... There haven't been too many that really fit the above, and tHe few there have been sold in one day or so or 15 min before I called.

After looking for almost a year, the spread has been time capsule low miles (asking big money AND needing lots of service) or higher mile cars that are great cars -just higher than I am looking for.

One of the best pieces of advice I've received from the site is to not pre-think too much, and let the car pick me.

Everyone here one this site has been absolutely fantastic in helping, and I've tried to do my share in helping back for others... I simply cannot wait to meet you all at a car show, and show my low mile Silver Birch... And buy ya'll a soda!

Thanks again.

Does it occur to you that trying to find a "low mile" 10-year-old car is not realistic? Perhaps you would find more to your liking if you were to accept the fact the cars will have mileage on them and shift some of your budget from the (lower) purchase price to the cost of having a competent shop rebuild your suspension and brakes with upgraded components.

As long as the body and interior are decent, fix up the mechanicals and enjoy it! You'll end up with something better than a low-mile stocker, which it is not likely you'll be able to find anyway.

It has occurred to me, and I understand your point(s).

I've always found it easier (and less expensive in the long haul) to buy the best car you can find, and the one you want...

Besides, since I live in CA, passing smog is a primary issue.

If a viable Marauder does not come along soon, I will adjust my metrics.

My daily driver in Fresno is a Bright White 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 with 470 HP stock from Dodge.

My son drives a Blue Streak 2012 Challenger SRT8.

My Las Vegas car, which I keep at my son's home in Henderson, NV is a Black 2003 MM with Reinhart Tune, Reinhart CAI, Baer 14" Front Brake kit and SS Marauder inserts.

Although the SRT8's are the 2 best cars I have ever driven, the MM is a close third. :bows:

It is still lots of fun to drive and gets thumbs ups, approving looks and admiring questions in parking lots and gas stations, even in Las Vegas.

I will be visiting my son for spring break and will be enjoying the heck out of my MM.
