At idle my tach reads '0', it usually reads around 1000rpm @ idle ??? Is this a real problem or just some "glitch" ? When you get on the throttle the tach, reacts but when you let off the tach will drop down to "0" again, concerned !! Any feedback will be appreciated, thanks :)

Its a glitch, it will get worse, and there is no fix.....yet. FBM I believe is looking deeper into it than most guys go, including me.

I'm looking for an instrument cluster with the tach problem to test to see if I can find a fix for the problem.

Thanks for clearing that up for me FBM, so is this a common problem & of no concern as far as not functioning correctly !? My ole' 89 Harley's tach. doesn't work either---no problem, just listen & shift ! Please let me know if you find out why the tach, reacts like this ! Thanks again:)

Not common, but a few of us have issues with it. Its been verified that its somewhere in the cluster and not just a loose wire or a short.

that figures the "luck o' da' Irish", NOT to be a common problem & not an easy fix, sounds like the whole cluster have to be replaced, oh, well , I'll live with annoyance, hopefully BFM, will find a solution. It is comforting to know though that I'am not the only one having this problem, for sure I thought I was "cursed", but still love my 03MM ! thanks for your reply

My tach works when it wants to. It reads 0 when I drive then works now and then. No one has been able to give me a straight answer as to why this happens but I'm searching myself. Frankdc
