View Full Version : Roll Bar & 3 in. Exhaust

Dropped my MM off at The Muffler Shop (Jeff Reinoehl) in Owings,Md. to have a roll bar installed & also going to go with a full 3in. exhaust system. Jeff is also going to make me a extra straight pipe so that i can take out the two Cats when i want (track) & use the Cats when i need them (NJ inspection). He is going to use V-bands so it should be easy to swap for me, i hope. Since iam adding weight with the bar iam going on a diet, sitting at 240lbs now going to shoot for 200lbs, maybe this will work for me, it's for my MM :)

I like the V-band swap setup... Debating on having my exhaust done locally and having the stock cut out and re v-banded so I can do the quick swap when I want quiet for road trips...

Look forward to results and pics!

Roll bars cars are streetable... 11.49 and below I think.

Roll cage, another subject.

Who actually drives an 11 second car though? I see your point. MOST people with a car that requires a bar to compete would probably not drive it. They are missing out.

Let's call it a bad and costly day and leave it at that. :( I don't want to side track the thread with questions on how things happened. What I do want to express is the importance for safety equipment while racing. On March 30th I hope to make my return to the track. I am still learning the sport and it's ups and downs. I try not to look backwards. It's been a long two year journey with a large supporting cast. I thank you all for your assistance, you know who you are. Now let's get back to the discussion.

I had no intention to flame on you. It was a valid question considering I posted the picture without explanation. Every time I see a Marauder in a junk yard twisted and mangled I ask the same question. I guess I should change my aviator to reflect the new Silver Birch. But for now I would like to remember my first love.

I a centrifugal heavy car like ours i wouldnt go bigger than a 2 1/2. Unless the car is stalled to hell or its being sprayed, it will be a dog out of the hole. CR has a lot to do with it also. Now a PD blower is a different story. My car breathes fine with a full mandrel bend 2 1/2 at 21psi. Bigger is not always better.

not looking to dump a bunch of dough to find out (yet)
maybe a little homework is in order.
2 1/2 is probably perfect since its basically a well preserved street car 99.9 percent of the time.

GT40 cams and the heads are CNC'd from foxlake. The dyno saw 21psi. He ran 11.12 in the 1/4 and we were seeing 16psi there. I machined the peaks down on the blower pulley and put a tighter belt on. There are threads floating around on the mods.

What was the last HP number you have on yours? i havent dynoed it with new setup but i did correct the afr. Last time with the t-trim it made 569rwhp @18psi 6800rpm with 16* of timing on pump gas.

Now with the ysi at 21 the strap burns perfect 13* of timing. 15* is too hot for pump gas.
