Since getting the tune done, the car seems to be shifting weird. Too fast.
I called the mechanic and he emailed me a fix, which I uploaded, and now it's way off. To save us both a lot of time and headache, I'm going through the tune and see for trans adjustments everything is set to 0 after doing his fix but it still seems to be shifting too fast up to the top. Gas mileage increased to 15mpg vs. 10. I used to get an easy 20-23 on the highway with this car. The engine rebuild may have something to do with that though.
Initially after doing the tune...it would never shift to 4th. I'd be on the tollway doing 80 @ 3000rpm.
Any insight on this issue...?
Thanks!
It sounds to me as if you are running a stock / factory tune now. The factory tune was tuned such that the car would be in fourth gear with t/c locked by about 40 mph which did nothing for performance but was supposed to help fuel economy. If I recall the torque converter would also lock part way through second gear as well which is likely what you are calling strange shifting now.
I hated my car that way, first thing I did was get a tuner from Lidio. I had my t/c programmed to lock up at 53 mph in 4th gear only, no lock up in second or third gears, the car shifted great and should have been that way from the factory, felt a thousand pounds lighter.
I would check your tuner, there should be more than one tune installed in it, it's likely labelled 91, 93 and custom. If your not sure call the place where you got it, also your car should not be cruising in third gear at 80 mph, there is an issue there and it's not calling for 4th gear or lock up.

I have a lidio tune and shifts beautifully. It's like it knows when I want to go aggressive??
If it keeps giving you trouble ill give ya $8.00 for it, yes yes even though its a dtr

If I was in Detroit or closer than 6 hours away....I would have brought it there.
So what are the adjustments and where. I see the settings for WOT 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but not beyond that.
It gives you value choices of
25
20
15
10
5
0
-5
-10
-15
-20
-25
for both the wide open throttle settings and then just normal but are those values in addition to....or...?
I'm learning......slowly I'm learning.
Also going on a road trip next week and want to dial it down for gas mileage. It cost me $79.00 to fill up today and that got me a whopping 225 miles on that tank.
It would be nice to get an extra hour or so on a tank....until I get to redneckville and have to shut down some Mustangs with giant stacks coming out of their trunks. :banana2:
