I saw a member on here with a Stainless Steel air box cover for the JLT CAI's. It looked like it had Marauder etched on it. Can we buy these or is this just someone with skills? I'm absolutly useless with the search option. If anyone has some details on this it would be great. Thanks.

That's the PHP airbox and you may be referring to my engine. I picked up the box about 7yrs ago and the etching was done around the same time.
There is a vendor that I refuse to mention that charges double what its worth and has the engraving facing the wrong way. A quick search may help you find info.

I am search engine handicaped! What is PHP? and what kind of CAI is under the box? I have a JLT CAI and that doesn't look like one. Last question. What did you pay for it, if you don't mind. I know it was 7 years ago..

PHP is Pauls high performance. http://www.paulshp.com/
They made the airbox way back when and I purchased it for I think $225 or $250. The tube was made by Metco and I picked that up separate from another member a few years back as well. The airbox was reproduced lately for around $400 and the tube is no longer available. They show up once and while, but its a super rare piece.
Underneath is a regular K&N cone filter with a sock over it.

Blackened 300A. To me that piece is like the cherry on top of your engine. I love what you've done. Tip of the hat to you sir!! Another question, did you chrome the top of your intake? My crossover tube is flaking the black paint. Any tips. I just love your engine bay!!

Paul I'm not sure which intake you're referring to for $400.00
I got mine for $250.00 (actually it was a gift!) And it came with a filter larger than the K&N. And the filter has an open end design like the JLT filter. I'll post up some pics later.
Here's the original thread.

Intake was nowhere near $400.00!

Go look at his website right now and tell me the price. I have the larger filter too but I used K&N as a comparison.

Thanks! The intake is polished, I also purchased that a few years back from another member. A lid can be purchased and sent out for polishing. I sold my spare lid and someone did that recently.

Yes sir. Not worth $400 in the least, but since hes the only one offering it he can ask whatever he wants. :shake:

Yup. $400 at Reinhart with extra dough for your carbon fibre pipe. $200 at Pauls but no pics at Pauls.
Man things must be rough to go from selling a complete package at $250 bucks to $400 large!!

I called Paul's/PHP some time ago in an effort to buy the CAI heat shield.
They referred me to DR to buy one because he was the only place that still sold them, PHP didn't have anymore.
I thought: "Yeah...right!"....:shake:
I'll make my own before I pay $400 to DR.

My crossover tube is stock. I just been lucky mine was never exposed to salt and rusted. Your best best is waiting for one to pop up for sale or take yours off and have it cleaned up and powder coated or paint it.

If Mr. Reinhart is listning.... How about a group buy for a fair price??? Or if anyone has some stainless steel and a bender I can get someone to do the engraving for me since we have the template, minus the dimentions... http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/session/00-00-1303931162-Mauraderairbox.jpg

This would be easy to make just get a member to measure or donate their cover for proper measurements and it can be reversed engineered. Offer polished or brushed stainless finishes.
Someone make it happen. I'm in on buying one that is not going to cost me $400.

I can measure mine just be aware, there is a bottom flange that the lid bolts to and mounts inside the car along with the maf adapter. This piece is only the top shield.
Also reverse the gods head, he should be looking to the left.

For those who love Doom's motor I think you would be shocked at the cost to get your engine and bay looking like his does, thats not even considering the WORK to keep it that way. Funny I hear people worried about the cost of 92 verses 89 octane re gas Mileage and cost. Doom could probably have a gas tanker to follow him verses his investment.
