Any super charged Marauder owners have trouble with passing emissions inspection with car in NJ?

Thanks,
Mike

Does N.J. inspection actually check the tail pipe or just see if there are any codes?

Either way, your probably OK, even if they check under the hood as most techs won't notice anything out of place......

NJ checks the emissions at the tailpipe.

NJ checks at the tailpipe. NJ checks OBDII (computer). You can get the tail pipe test from a private inspection place at a cost of about $50 bucks. Good for 2 years. Ms. D's Zack tuned car wouldn't pass the OBDII (stock) but sailed through the tail pipe test no problem without returning the car to a stock tune (which she no longer even has)

NJ checks at the tailpipe.

That shouldn't be a problem.

Since you wont be in the boost while they are checking for emissions there shouldn't be an issue.

If they check under the hood will they know what they are looking at? I'd assume not.

Take it from me, they use OBDII...... My Trilogy failed because of failed/unavailable sensors.

When the weather improves, I'm getting her retuned.

I called a garage and they told me they wouldn't touch it. I'll call others.

Yep, NJ uses OBDII for 1996 and newer.

So most are saying it will not be an issue as long as no check engine light on?

And all the sensors are reading ready

If it turns into a problem, I have $8.00 put aside :D

Guy in Washington told me they wouldn't do a TP test on a car as new as a MM. I think those guys make up the rules as they go anyways. Powertrippers.:shake:

Finally passed at a private garage with the Zack tune intact. Guy said it was one of the cleanest TP tests he'd seen. Stupid State of NJ

BDJ, I think the OBD test is for '96 and newer anyway. My '72 Olds had to pass emissions(!) last year, which was a little tricky.

My non-SC MM just passed NJ inspection in January. I had to remove my Lidio tune and put over 100 miles on the car without the tune to allow for sensors to reset/become "supported". Passed the OBD test; no "check engine" light, no problem. I'm getting good at this
