I put the Baer front 14 inch brake kit on a few months ago. Maybe 1,000 miles on it since. Looks cool and far better breaking than stock. :banana::banana:
My son likes it so much he drives it around Las Vegas when I am not visiting. Problem is he has reported some high pitched noises when breaking, especially at low speed at drive thru restaurants.
No problem with the stopping power. Still a great improvement from the stock MM front brakes.
Is this normal? :drive::drive:
Is there a way to resolve it?

Does Baer Brakes require a Pad Bedding process after the install?
My Wilwoods require a Pad Bedding process, work awesome and they are quiet as a mouse.
Perhaps yours just has a build up of dust? Was any anti squeal or silicone used behind the pads?

What Pads did you install? Brand and kind of pad. Asking due to the pad for the Bear kit is a C4 corvette pad if you are looking for options.

No bedding process or silicone was applied. The technician followed the factory instructions and used the Baer brake pads that came with the kit.
The more they are used the better they have worked and the feel of the braking has gotten better and better over the first 1,000 miles.
My son has incredible hearing, especially high pitched sounds that only dogs can hear. He describes it as a very high pitched squeal sound with low speed braking. His nick name is Inuyasha (Reference to the Japanese cartoon, Inuyasha which translates to "Devil Dog")
Otherwise he loves the improvement in braking. The MM has 36,000 miles on it.

I spoke to a very nice Baer representative today.
He told me the high pitched squealing is from the zinc plated rotors breaking in.
He reassures me that the squealing will go away as the brake pads fully season the rotors. :drive:
I understand that braking performance (which is already much better than the stock brakes) should improve over time as well. :beer::cuke:
