Ill have a complete install thread coming soon. I learned a few helpful tricks that will make some of the hardest parts of this install go smoother, like the EGR tube installation and angles of how to attack some of the bolts. We started out with a front and rear addco sway bar install while the engine was cooling off and then took just over 5 hours start to finish for the headers with catted leads that bolt to the stock system. We didn't jack the engine up or drain any coolant or really have to remove all that much to gain access. Basically just the 3 bolts for the AC compressor to move it forward, the starter, took one bolt out of the steering shaft and moved it aside, and removed the oil filter to gain a little easier access up front. Pretty smooth and straight forward install with no unexpected problems. Probably because this wasn't my car that things went so smooth. :D
Even the steering shaft had plenty of clearance which is making me wanna try shifting my engine over a little bit to see if I can gain a inch.
No drone at all and it sounds insanely loud at WOT even with this car having the stock H pipe into aero turbines with stock resonated tips.

Good luck! I plan on having the install thread up by tomorrow. My hands are cut all to hell and my back is a little tweaked, but no leaks and a successful install.
Take your time with it and use my advice so you don't have to do things twice or run into a wall. Each bolt will present its own challenges, so just look at it from all angles. Keep extensions and universal joint socket adapters handy. They save time and will allow you to get places your hands won't allow. That's pretty much the only specialty tools you'll need. We used the ford racing locking bolts and a lokar dipstick to save time and make it go smoother.

In some places yes, those drivers side center bolts I dont think the head of the wrench wouldn't even fit. Very snug there as part of the new design to gain steering shaft clearance.

Here is the install thread. It took me about as long to author it as it did to install the headers on the car!
I think it will be the go to thread for a header install.

Awesome write up. I will definately be studying this before and during my header install!
A few questions:
1.) The Exhaust flange gaskets P/N E9AZ-5E241-A: two are required correct?
2.) Are the header bolts that come with the SW kit acceptable? Is there a history of them backing out even when tightened properly?
3.) Can you explain a little about the aftermarket dipstick? Call me ignorant but I dont see the big deal with re-installing the OEM one.

Yes two gaskets are required for the flanges, one per side. As for the hardware, the bolts the kit come with are fine and will work, I just preferred a grade 8 setup with locks to prevent backing out and are strong to prevent snapping one.
Some people have made the stock dipstick work, I just didn't wanna bend it and risk kinking the tube during installation and be stuck with no dipstick when it takes a whole 2 minutes to install the lokar and be done with it.

Wow thanks so much. Plan to do these this year! (not sure when)
Sorry I've been so mum on my mods, but, well, that's parenthood in a nutshell.
1 more weekend project and the madness will begin again.
