Well after I blew the motor last november, I found a 5.3 shortblock and got the motor back together. Also over the winter, we rebuilt the trans, got some better apply pistons, new clutches and steels, got the tolerances in the drums where they needed to be, ripped off the transgo shift kit because it wouldn't support the HP I was making and made my own full manual VB.
Moser just called today, they're making me some 31 spline axles, they'll get shipped out tomorrow. Other than that, she's almost ready to go! Might be making some 8th mile passes this friday! Stay tuned!

It's so sad that a larger motor like that looks so tiny in the engine bay when I compare it to my MM motor.
What management system are you using?

Megasquirt. (MS3X). Manual boost controller, 95lb low imp injectors, E85, 3.08 gears.
It was on a 255/50-16 and didn't have any problems. Got some 275/50-15s because they were cheap, and the other radials were done.

Are you going a/a or w/a?

It's still the same old janky A/A with same side exit/entrance. I just didn't have any of the IC piping on for the picture. It keeps IATs to about 150* by the 8th mile traps. But IATs are really just a shot in the dark anyway unless you're measuring them right at the backside of the intake valve (Which I'm not, and I'll bet no one here is either, LOL).
It's on E85, which is dang near impossible to get to detonate. I've seen guys peg a 255* IAT sensor just 2 seconds into a run, and never detonate. I'll just be watching the plugs, and I'm gonna keep giving it a degree until it stops MPHing.

There are plenty guys hitting 210* at the 1320 with similar setups and no problems. Just thank yourself is not a mod motor. Lol

I do everyday! LOL. I wouldn't have the balls to turn it up if I actually had a lot of money in it!

Looking good Cam, don't know how I missed it. PM me your times etc if you go to the meet and I miss it. Dash Cam FTW!

IDK if I posted in here, but I've decided to delete the intercooler, and also put a fullsize radiator back in. I found the perfect one in a 1991 Lincoln Town Car. I didn't realize the 5.0 panthers had opposite exit and entrance sides on the upper and lower than the later panthers, but it's exactly what I wanted.
Also, I ditched that tube and fin trans cooler a while ago and put a 2000 ford econoline van bar and plate trans cooler on.
New 31 spline axles in

Just some Walmart L brackets I cut down on one side, and some self tapping bolts.

It's not a road course car. I'm not overly worried about power steering temps.

First pass 11.1

Second pass
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWDF7rMGXDE
Now I was gonna call it a night, but the guys I was with twisted my arm into making another pass. So I did. Thought I heard detonation, and I've blown up two motors before so I let out, tapped the brakes, and idled from about the 594'. I'm not gonna say "it's got a lot more in her" or " that was a 10.XX pass", but now I know the potential of my car with a good 60'. The difference in 330' between the 2nd and 3rd pass is whats really exciting to me.
