Anyone know of a GOOD careful VA state inspector?? Hopefully near Fairfax. Here in VA we have yearly safety inspections and I always get nervous!! Not about the car, but care the car receives during inspection.

Very few mishaps take place at inspection stations. I've never had any damage whatsoever. The one thing you will want to approach them about right off the bat though..... is you will pay extra to have them take your wheels off by hand, and torque them back on by hand. When you make this offer they are going to know they have a "special car" on their hands and they will handle it with kid gloves.

We don't have inspection here, they take the wheels off and actually check the brakes? No s---... Balljoints and muff's the whole car gets it? I thought it was just a visual check.

Yes. Virginia has a right comprehensive inspection. And 99.95% of the authorized inspection stations won't risk losing their license by passing a defective vehicle.
If you click on the link below.... and scroll down a tad, you will see the inspection procedure outlined quite well.....

Well I finally found out where you got that beautiful picture of the MM in your Sig. My son went to the Atlanta Car Show this week and picked up several of the 2004 MM brochures they had at the show. Guess what - your MM is on the front cover. But, is this the same brochure that the L-M dealers give out?? It is only 4 pages and not much detail. What does the real 2004 MM brochure look like or is this it. I have been to several dealers and NO one has any 2004 MM brochures. Sorry did not mean to hi-jack this thread.

You need to get yourself a rapport with a local garage. Someone that you can build a relationship and get to know.
I was lucky and the woman I worked with during my summer college internship; her husband is an auto mechanic and ive been taking ally my cars to him for inspection. Marauder included.

lol are you kidding, I had my MM inspected off of Franconia Rd in Springfield, when lived in VA a year ago, and the MM was in and out in about 2 minutes. Wheels never came off, all they did was wave a flashlight around under the car and I was done.
Sheehy ford springfield, that strikes fear into my heart!! They were responsible for "resetting" my slightly noisy OEM gears and ruining them after holding my car hostage for a week and a half
