Hey folks, the date's fast approaching, and the pre-registration deadline is April 8th.

Remember, Mercurys are this year's featured vehicles, and the FOAC folks are rolling out the red carpet for us.

So, let's get some chatter going on this:

Southern guys, this is a GREAT show, and we're working on some stuff for Friday and Saturday nights to entertain you before and after the show.

Thank you to everyone that can pre registering. I was at the FOAC meeting last night and took some heat due to poor pre registration. Thank you all for your support of the BOC. The money raised is going to the DOVE house if I remember correctly. Last year this event raised $5,000 dollars.

Hope to see everyone there.

Sorry that you and Rex are taking the heat, but IMO, I think the pre-registration deadline is pretty early; almost a month prior to the event. Not many people can commit that far out...again, JMO.

If we can get some of those eastern NC guys in the mix and a couple more SC/GA guys, we will end up with 10-12 cars. Won't have that when the pre-registration deadline passes, but we still have 6 weeks to recruit.

Tell the FOAC crew that's how we roll...leave late, arrive early! :D

Latest update on some of the cars that will be there.

A friend of mine from Greenville is brining his 427-powered '64 Marauder along with his '03 SB.

Also got word from the FOAC folks that there's a '66 S-55 registered, rare car! Can't wait to see it in person.

Still time to make plans, so if you're thinking about attending, let me or Russ know so we can coordinate caravaning, parking, etc.

Since my inner cooler is not working on the MM, I will probably trailer it up and have it for accountability. Don't want to run risk of doing it alone and having any heating problems . Have had this lingering over me since Nov/Dec time frame....just no time to get it resolved--have new pump--but not the electrical plug for it...seems to be a hassle......

Anyway. Will be there ....but ..in different fashion

I've got to get there early to help organize the Mercury parking, and Russ and I are also volunteering as judges (prolly for non-Mercury classes), so I'm planning on rolling in right around 8:00 a.m.

Weather should be good for Sat. Would like to roll in at 7:00-7:30. Last year at 8:00 they already had 40 cars on the lot. There are 90 all ready stating they will be there. They are looking for 250-300 cars total. Hope to see all the Carolina Marauders there.

Not getting much interest in lodging down in Charlotte, so I'm booking a room up in Mooresville for Friday night. It's less than 5 miles from the show, nice hotel and reasonable rates, especially if you pre-pay.

My plans for tomorrow have changed; won't be going to Russ's place, most likely, as he has other commitments going on that day. After I'm done with my final that morning, will clean up my car, put on my new pinstripe (took off the black yesterday) and...? (Rex, I'm gonna give you a call a little later to see about convoying up with you tomorrow)

I'm up for anything Saturday after the show, but need to 'do the right thing' and be back home that night. I've got my last final exam at 8am Monday, and it's the class I'm struggling with the most (Computer Programming).

Part of our final exam is writing a program that has to be turned in by Monday night, and I can tell I'm going to need all day Sunday to study for the in-class portion as well as all of Sunday/Monday writing the program; I won't get the particulars on the programming assignment until tomorrow morning. I need to do well on both pieces of the final to avoid getting lower than a C.

There are 2 TK's in CLT now...the one near Tom's house and a new one on the SE side of town near Matthews. Figured if another one was going to pop up, it would be near the Speedway...oh well.

I'm up for it, but being on the south side of CLT kinda tarnishes it a little bit. I'll be staying at my Mom's house Fri night, which is near the Speedway. I know there's a Hooters near the Speedway as well as all kinds of shyt around Concord Mills mall.
