I was wondering who is running these and do they actually work? Seems to be a lot of varying reviews online. Can anybody attest to the fact that you get an increase in mileage, horsepower, or reduced emissions? Thanks guys.

I Installed the Fitch unit on my 25000 mi. Marauder . Initially there was little
difference , after a few trips i noticed improved throttle response . My m.p.g.
was 20-21 if i drove for mileage, then along came Ethanol and my m.p.g. dropped to 17-19 . Cold air , 4/10s,sct tuner . Did i get value from It ?
Hard to tell, many variables , if you have the coin, it did not hurt anything.

Placebo effect.
Considering the ridiculous CAFE fuel economy requirements,
If they actually worked every car being built would come with one from the factory.

None of these things have ever worked. Then again people are still buying those plastic bracelets with the little metal thing that looks like a women's watch and swear by them.....people are dumb.

Have you read their own website?

Besides the fact that it looks like it was thrown together as a high school project, they don't cite names or references for anything. It was researched at "Accredited University". OK? Who the **** would that be? And DoD was one of the research partners? Yeah ok....

I'll tell you one thing, I'm in the wrong business if crap like this sells...

I've got a beautiful Alpine Ski Resort for sale in Florida. And if you Priority Mail me cash I'll throw in a real nice bridge and a really neat electronic device that will increase your horsepower by 15%!

Saying "if they worked, all cars would come with them from the factory" doesn't really cover it IMO ; the advantages of headers / improved exhaust systems have been documented forever, and it would be easy to make them factory equipment, yet how many cars come with them ?

I could understand it when cars were $5k (and gas was .62 / gal), but at today's new-car prices it's hard to understand.

It would be great to hear from more people that have actually used one - Babbage has one, Post 20.

Thats the post that got me thinking. I didnt want to hijack his thread. Personally, i think its a bunch of BS, but stranger stuff has happened. One review i read made a valid point....why doesnt the mail carriers(ups, fedex, usps, dhl, etc) or any trucking company use these? I think if they had scientific proof to back up their claims they would be used by every one, but they dont.

I have one installed, but not for mileage or horsepower. Have had bad gas before, but not since i installed it. This is just a little insurance. You can believe what you want. i'll keep mine.

They have all kinds of magazine reviews, test results (fuel economy tests, dyno pulls, etc) and testimonials on their website. A lot of it seems to be geared towards commercial trucking.

This from the FAQs :

"Why don’t the OEMs like GM, Chrysler, Ford <etc> [use them] ?

The OEMs don’t typically add parts to the assembly line unless it saves them money or are required to add because of specific regulations.
OEMS must meet certain standards set forth by the EPA and other regulatory organizations.
When determining MPG window sticker numbers, the EPA requires the automotive OEMs to test on certified fuel such as Indolene. These purest certified fuels are too expensive to mass produce and are NOT equivalent to what consumers purchase at the pump." (italics added)

Believe me, I'm not shilling these things, but if it was $40 I might give it a shot.
Problem is, it's not ;)

Car manufactures are taxed out the ass on their vehicle MPG. Hence the reason for the 5w-20 oil. They went so far as to change the damn oil for an extra quarter of an .mpg. If there was something out there that could make a substantial dent. They would utilize it!

That quote is disingenuous at best. It's their attempt to answer a very pertinent question most people ask "if it works why doesn't the auto manufacturers use it"

If according to their claims...
"Adds 1-2.5 MPG" the auto makers would be all over it as they would save much R&D trying to meet CAFE standards.

"Increases octane" I would think the petroleum industry would like that as it's technology could help them produce gasoline more efficiently.

"Improve HP and Torque" Come on!!!! Look at what the manufacturers do just to add a handful of HP to cars every year...Direct Injection, Turbo Charging etc.

"Reduces Emissions" Look at what auto makers have to put on cars to meet Fed standards

"Reduce number of oil changes" HUH? How? By how much? Please....

"Cleaner injectors carbs and plugs" Cleaner then what...I look at plugs everyday, I haven't seen a dirty plug in years, haven't had a clogged injector since the 90's.

It's all ********

Its as useful as the "Cyclone" thing that people stuck in there air intake tubes...they were everywhere 5 years ago...they seem to have died a slow death for the most part.

Our shop was picked to test a device that looks very much like the Fitch years ago. We had 2 cars we had to make very careful measurements with our gas analyzers at different loads and temperature and on our dyno. We did the same test over and over again with the unit installed and un installed.

The results?

Absolutely no difference in any measurements.

Wheres marauderjack with his knowledgeable input? He seems to know a lot about fossil fuels. I cant see how a product like this would go unnoticed if it actually worked. The word around town is that doom runs 8 of these, one for each injector, and he has 3 tornados, one for his intake and one for each exhaust. Thats how he keeps that motor so clean.

Whitey get the fuel line magnet, it worked for me.

+1

I got two of 'em, run in series.

More HP, car is more responsive throughout the RPM range, only bad thing is mileage is TOO good, I gotta stop every couple humdred miles and siphon out some gas or the tank will start overflowing...
