Broken driver seat

After 10 years of use, my driver side seat frame gave up the ghost and broke. Please let me know what anyone out there has done that might have suffered a similar situation. Thanks.

The thin sheet metal frame tore in my first mm and I ended up laying in the back seat. I seam welded it then plated it and it was good for another 80k until I sold it.

Do they start squeaking before they break? My drivers seat has been squeaking since I bought the car and I just found the source of the squeak today. Seat back hinge bolt, outboard side. It would squeak any time you shifted your shoulders, drove me up the wall. Can't stand noises like that. I hunt them down with insane resolve until I find them. My wife thinks I'm nuts. Anything I should be worried about? Where is it that the seat frame fails? Any pics?
