I am about to order some of the Cooper Zeon RS3a tires. They seem to have picked up a good following here on the forum. I'm on my 3rd set of OEM tires - I stretched out this last set for 48k miles. The fronts still have life in them, but the rears - one side is basically bald, and the other side has a little tread left. Can't figure that one out, since I check pressures regularly. I did do the little trick for the rear tires of keeping them at 40 psi that was recommended to keep the tread sort of evened out in the center section, but that only barely worked. And not this time around on the one side.
So, here is my question - are the Cooper rear tires any better at handling the rear tread center-wear problem? I'm sure a few of you out there now have some mileage built up on these tires.
Thanks for you input.

Here's a few threads about Coopers. I have the Firestone Firehawks and am satisfied.

I've put a little under 20k on my Coopers since I bought them almost a year ago. I had the fronts aligned to carfixers' specs and have been doing the side-to-side rotation at every oil change. I will admit that I don't check my PSI as much as I should, though. Last time I had the tires off the car (10 days ago), there was no unusual wear on any of the tires. The tread on the rears is halfway done, maybe a hair more.
I don't have any complaints, except that I may not get 40,000 miles out of the rears; however, this is most likely due to HRF syndrome. I've also noticed that when new, it was hard as hell to get a chirp from 1st-2nd...now that half the tread is worn, it's easier (which is why I won't get 40k out of em...lol). I will most likely go with Coopers again.

Consumer Reports Best & Worst Cars for 2013 lists them under "Ultra High Performance All season tires " with a 82 score. I Have them on the front of my Marauder with no issues. They ride nice.

I just purchased these tires a month ago. Feel great! Way too soon to see any uneven wear. I've read plenty of good reviews here which is why I picked them.

I truly like the Coopers RS3-A's and RS3-S's (run both on the Marauder) and highly recommend most Cooper and Mastercraft tires to my customers with no hesitation.
Sorry, cant really help with your center wear issue question. I have only put about 3,000 miles on my car since purchase and just received my 3rd pair of rear tires in my last shipment :burnout:

First, I want to thank all of you that replied. All good info, for sure! I decided to go with the Coopers, and ordered the full set today. Discount Tire had the best price - $612 incl shipping ("free"), and that price includes a $50 on line order discount. I did price the tires out for somewhat less, but the shipping prices were insane, making the totals well over $700.
Discount offers a tire warranty for 3 years, but I declined. My personal, local, experience finds that it usually doesn't pay.
I have a new set of chromed valve stems, and am ready to go when the tires arrive. Will put my two cents in along with the rest of yours.

I have the cooper ZEON tires, and so far like them allot, and I like the speed rating as well. Although my rears usually only get a few thousand and I change them...:burnout:
