View Full Version : Shipping a Marauder bumper cover

I picked up a bumper cover for a member on here and shipping is $508! I made some calls and found out I can get it done for $175, but a business must be billed, NOT an individual. It looks doubtful that he can get his work on the invoice.
Does anyone have any ideas for us or is he stuck with $508 from UPS?
I already went to USPS, denied service... Fedex, denied service... U-haul (someone told me) denied service.
Anything we can do to help a member?

I have large items shipped to my work for the cheaper shipping costs. It just gets shipped to attention my name but the companies address. I haven't had any problems. Does his shipping and receiving guys know him? Mine are pretty cool.
Are you sure it has to be invoiced to the company and not just be the companies address?

The last bumper I shipped rode Greyhound.
It was pretty easy.

Cool. I got a few people saying Grayhound. So I simply take it there and tell them to ship it or do I need to call ahead?

I'd assume you need to call ahead and have it packed up.

I also had a fender shipped from AZ to Atlanta via Greyhound.
Picked it up at the terminal...........no probs. Shipper used an cut-down refrigerator box.

I am on it. A few members told me a few other options that didn't make the board.
Thank you all, you know who you are.

You could check U-ship also. Someone may pick it up if they are going that way.

What about freight truck like beaver, Conway, yellow??? I ship big stuff that way from time to time can't see it being more than 75-100 bucks. Maybe a phone call and you take it to the depot ready to ship?

Giant slingshot?
Put it on a barge going down the Mississippi?
Dehydrate it?
Hire a local crop-duster?
Okay...I'm out of suggestions...

All musicians need to have a period in their life where they use Greyhound.
Think of it as a right of passage.

"I was born in the backseat of a Garyhound bus, rolling down highway 41."
I am far from being a musician. As long as three chord songs exist, I can get shows.
Megabus was horrible. Maybe Grayhound someday.
