So now that I can put pictures up, i thought i would share my progress on my swap. Everyone knows how to tear it down so I'm gonna take off on the build aspect of it. So far I have my cooling mod installed and plumbed, and the block is prepped for the lower intake. (Ground knock sensor bosses and installed the cobra heater tube. I'm waiting on the lower intake to arrive to put the motor back together. Also installed my crossover delete. There are several members that have been super helpfull and I can't thank them enough. I'm currently trying to fabricate little mounts for the fusebox.

Below is Musclemercs cooling mod. It looks stock and it is very high quality. He gives you everything you need to Install it. Get a hold of him for one on the Chicago garage.

This is my house. Currently drenched in parts I feel as if nothing is being accomplished. Once the brackets show up and I get my intake I can put it together. Seeing the blower sitting on the car will be a huge motivational kick in the butt. Fabbing up brackets that look nice soaks up tons time especially since I haven't had to do it before. Fusebox and battery bracket pics would be greatly appreciated

Looking good how much time are you allowing for the project ? What rear head cool mod are you using ? Did you have to grind the intake much to fit the rear cool mod ?

I want to have the car running in two weeks. I'm using Musclemercs coolng mod. No trimming of the intake is required.

Mo's Speed Shop did the work but here's a picture of the mounts I can see. I looked to see if there's any other mounts but can't see it.

Thanks for the pic. I'm trying to use the steel cage that it was originally mounted in to secure it but I might bolt through the plastic box itself. It's one of those nights where I'm super tired and I need to go at it with a fresh mind tommorow.

lilmarauder
03-25-2013, 07:29 PM
Well I have a good majority of the parts. I'm still waiting on the brackets from gortch, my second intercooler and lower intake, and a catch can setup from Musclemerc. Everything but the catch can should be here any day now. I'm running a crossover tube delete kit. The two braided lines are pretty much my crossover tube.

I came right home after work cause I'm supposed to be hurrying to the girlfriends house but I found myself out in the garage. I took a few minutes and mounted the heat exchanger. I used 1"x 1/8" thick aluminum strips for brackets. Bent them in the brake at my buddies and they actually fit up great. Here are some pics. I hope I didn't mount it too low.....
Also do I need to hook up a hose to the overflow nipple on the heat exchanger?

Got the fusebox installed.
See I get frustrated easy and sometimes I gotta walk away. Came at it today and it turned out great. Made one bracket and its definately solid enough for a fusebox. It's decently solid and its simple.
One thing that is very important when changing something or fabricating something is ask yourself, how easy is this gonna be to take apart if I have to. But all you wise old men already know that. :D

I just finished torquing the blower to the lower Intake. I used the steel gasket only. No rtv or silicone. Use flange bolts. The torque value via trilogy install manual is 29 newton meters. The equivalent to that in foot pounds is exactly 21.3 foot pounds. Click em at 22 ft/lbs. Trilogy says use 8mm x 30mm long, the Ford dealer shows the factory bolt to be 40mm long. 40's are too long. They bottom out with a 1/16 gap. I used 8mmx35mm long. Worked perfect.

I can't figure out how to mount the fuse box clean. I'm thinking something like this. What do you guys think?

I didn't relocate my fuse box however I did go to junk yard & got the piece that clips to the fuse box that actually comes on the Crown Vic... I snagged that & clipped it on my marauder fuse box like it is installed on crown vic...

I wired the 4 relay & 1 diode add-on piece as such: 2 relays for the two front HE fans (1 relay per fan) & 1 relay for the upgraded intercooler water pump. I still have a spare relay location with a completely stock appearance.
you'd have to actually know the marauder engine bay to know that piece didn't come attached to out fuse box like the crown vic's..
