Im looking at purchasing a new toy within the next week or so and the marauder has made it in the top two. My goals for the car is 500-600+ too the wheels but don't know the weak links. Will this be expensive? Is it easily achievable? Forced induction is right up my alley if it will help me!!

500-600 RWHP with reliability will cost you cubic $$$.
All you have to do is replace the entire drive train, front and rear suspension components and install the biggest brakes you can possibly fit to the car, some really expensive tires, and have a real master tune it.
If you'd like to do it the easy way take it to Zack or Mo,fork over in excess of $10K (to start with)and tell them you want 500+ RWHP in your Marauder with as much reliability as possible that you can start, steer and stop safely.
Of course that's only if you want it done right.

Yes it will be expensive, once you get over 500whp that's where I think the real money starts to get spent. With forced induction those aren't hard numbers, just can be hard on the wallet.

:welcome: to the site.

500RWHP is very possible.

I did it with a Cobra block and a ported blower.

Stick around the MM for sale thread, there have been some great deals on cars already built. You can save a lot over having it done yourself.

Welcome to the show.

Get a Merc. A LOT less Mercs running around than SRT's. And I love SRT's. Bad ass cars. But seeing a Marauder, or even a Boosted Marauder is like seeing Moses part the Red Sea.

DTR + 4.10's + Eaton swap = Wreeeeeeeeeeeeeeedom

You can do up to 420 - 430 with an Eaton Swap for about $5000 and some labor.

After 500 what needs too be upgraded?

To get to 500RWHP you'll need a forged rotating assembly, forced induction, upgraded trans, upgrade fuel system, upgraded rear end. If you want to be safe..... upgrade suspension, upgrade brakes.

Your bank account....... you'll need a built rear, built transmission, big brake kit + supporting mods, and a supportive spouse if your married. :D

You won't need a built rear unless you plan on drag racing the car.

My stock tranny handled the power just fine.

Although I do have a built trans now. :D

If you want to just tip into 500whp I'd agree for a while on the rear end, and the trans is a gamble honestly.

The rear end I say I agree for a while because of the LSD mostly. You are going to wear it out fast, just hitting it hard on the street the rear is putting in a lot of work. So I suppose if you don't drive much, and don't drag race it could last a number of years deep into 500 up to 600. But if you race now and then, and really drive the car, the clutches get tired fast.

That said, I've yet to hurt my 28 spline axles, I thought sure I'd kill em with the slicks, but I think running slicks actually helped with the shock on the launch...

The trans I would say is more luck than anything else when it's stock. Mine ate an input shaft and OD band very early on, on the highway no less. Good lesson on the OD band weak link . Upgraded OD band and shafts at the very least would be needed to not always have the feeling in the back of your mind that it's gonna come apart when you bed the throttle.

But yeah other than the above, once you get into 500whp the stock internals are a gamble, may be fine, most often not so fine.

Then there's the stuff you need to support the power, MAF, fuel pump(s), injectors, BAP blah blah blah

So really the motor will make the power, it wants to make the power, it's just if you want it to make the power for a long time there are a lot of supporting items you'll need, and the bill can get hefty quickly.

And yeah, big brakes are very nice.

So I guess the real answer is, you could get a stock Marauder, buy a supercharger kit, bigger injectors than the kit comes with, MAF or MAF helper pluggy deal, upgrade the fuel pump that came in the kit, get a BAP, change the pulley on the supercharger, good tune.

^^With just that you could make 550whp pretty easy... I just don't know how long it would do it for.

450 RWHP is considered the line not to cross for stock motors. If you shave 50 rwhp off your goal you save lots of money.

Most folks have been aiming at 400-450 or just going for 600+hp. 500rwhp doesn't pay as an ultimate goal. You need a new block for that.

Also a little patience will land some AWSOME pre supercharged cars. You might be able to pick something up for 12-15k, and something amazing for 25k. Look for trilogy installs as it was a kit with few decisions to make so less room for error.

BTW who makes blowers for the challenger/charger 392? Not alot of great info out there.

You don't need a block, you need bottom end internals. Blocks aren't being damaged by power, but by broken internals making an exit.

I'm pretty sure the cobra motor swap is what I'm gonna do depending on if I can fit a kenne bell 2.8 under the hood. Since I'm on the road so much with my transport company the car will really just sit until its time for a show or I go by my moms house too visit her. Not really looking too drag race a lot just mostly rolling burnouts and occasional street race.
