Hey guys anyone have a link to a how to or thread for fuel pump replacement? Just curious if I need to drop the tank for the removal? If anyone has tips or tricks that would be great.

Dropping the tank is probably the easiest, but you can swap out the pump with the tank in place, just little harder.

Jack up the car. Remove the right side exhaust tip from its hanger. Its helps give you more clearance when you pull the fuel hat out. I just unbolt the hanger. Then just unbolt the fuel hat. I think I might have even cut some of the wire harness tape too so that the fuel hat hung even lower. Put a rag in the fuel hat opening to keep the fumes to a minimum.
Well that's how I was told to did it and it was an easy task.

What he said ^^^ pull the wiring out of the plastic piping for more wiggle room.
The pump replacement is straight forward and easy to figure out once down.

Make sure you siphon the fuel level down or you gonna have a mess!
Very simple job, & like ^^^ said no need to drop tank unless you wish to.
Have fun with the job! :D

Ok, and if I drop tank for easier access, any hiccups there I will run into? Still remove the exhaust tip? Thanks guys

If you do, have fun getting the bolts started again, or so I've read.

correct. bolting the gas tank up is a PITA. we ended up just pulling the straps over the axle

The dealer has replacement bolts for the tank straps. They are the style that will brake off and are then short like what you will see when looking at the bolt and nut. ask me how I know.

I didn't touch the exhaust, cut any wires, or completely unbolt either of the straps when I did mine. The wire harness connector on the top of the tank was a pain but worth it to avoid electrical issues in the future from clipping wires.
